Mackenzie’s POV
I’m nervous, but excited, not as nervous as I was when I met Callan’s mother at a small artisan bakery that specialises in wedding cakes last week.
We had left Maxton with Gage and Hali for the afternoon, as I decided that bringing him to a place where the cakes start at five thousand dollars might not be the best idea for a curious, cake loving toddler. I also didn’t want Callan’s mother to meet my son before I have a chance to, I needed to make sure that she will be kind to my baby. Judging by Callan, I couldn’t see how she wouldn’t be anything but wonderful, but, you never know, and I refused to risk my son’s feelings for anyone.
I had been nervous about leaving Maxton, even if it was with Callan’s best friend. I’m all Maxton knows, his main carer for as long as he can reme……
