Hallick’s POV
Seona has been almost silent for the last two days since the run in with her douche of a husband. Where she was starting to come out of her shell, would sit with me and watch a movie and animatedly talk as we ate, now she’s almost robotic.
I watch as yet again, after eating her lunch, the blonde haired woman places her plate into the dishwasher and hurries from the room, the click of her bedroom lock telling me she’s hidden herself away again.
I finish the last bite of my sandwich, clearing up the last of the mess before walking out of the kitchen, hesitating for a few minutes beside Seona’s door before tentatively knocking.
I don’t hear any movement inside, but I instinctively know that she’s listening so I speak anyway.
‘I’m just going to pop down to the bakery’ I call ou……
