Seona's POV
We hurry past Daisy’s café, and I wave quickly through the window when I spot my best friend clearing a table just inside. The dark haired woman smiles brightly, waving back to me as she tucks a piece of her neon green streaked hair behind her ear.
We reach Mark’s truck quickly, and the soldier tugs open my door, helping me inside before shutting it after me. Jogging around to the far side, he drops our bags on the back seat and climbs in behind the wheel, starting the engine and quickly turning on the hot air which he angles at me as soon as it’s warm enough.
Pulling away from the pavement, the man of few words easily merges into the light traffic, turning the car toward the edge of town and out toward our destination.
‘Hey Love’ Mark’s gravelly voice rouses me and I straig……
