Hallick’s POV

I drop heavily onto the tiny twin bed, my head falling into my palms as I grip at my hair, tugging it painfully.

I hurt her, I f.ucking hurt her! I didn’t mean to but I did! I’m no better than her damn husband, hurting her when all she was trying to do was help me. I’m not safe to be around, f.uck I was concerned when Ratchet first asked me to come work for Cadell Security, but I did it because he asked.

I had one damn rule, don’t let me lead or work alone, I know what I am and I didn’t want my s.hit to drag down a job. Yet here I am, doing exactly what I swore I wouldn’t do and now my charge has paid the price.
