Gage’s POV

When I woke up the next morning, I felt awful about how I’d spoken to Callan the night before. I knew he was ribbing me but what with spilling my guts to Hali about my past and then seeing where she lived, my nerves were raw and I said things I didn’t mean.

Truthfully, Callan is a good guy, he’s hurting just like the rest of us and he buries the pain in faceless women and expensive drinks. Heading out of my room, I stop outside his door, knocking loudly.

‘Cal?’ I call out, ‘look man, I’m sorry about yesterday, I was a d**k and what I said . . ‘ I rub my hand down my face as I blow out a breath, ‘you know I love you man, I was in a bad head space and I took it out on you.’

I stop speaking, leaning closer to his door but hear nothing from the other side.
