Seona’s POV
I feel like Mark is keeping secrets from me, we haven’t left the bakery in four days now, not even to go next door to see Daisy, something that he had encouraged me to do before.
I’m used to being cooped up, I mean I spent most of my marriage in our home, alone, but after the small taste of freedom I’ve had since coming to the small apartment, I’m starting to get cabin fever from staring at the same four walls every day.
I wipe down the worktop in the kitchen for the fourth time, my gaze moving to the small window that looks out over the main street in front of me longingly.
I can’t help the deep sigh that leaves me, followed by a yelp of fear when the deep rumbling voice of the man who lives with me speaks just behind me.
‘What’s wrong?’ he asks grumpily as I spin around to ……
