Mackenzie’s POV
‘Is anybody there?’ I demand angrily, gripping the phone tightly as yet again there is no response on the other end of the line.
‘Stop calling me or I’m going to the police, this isn’t funny’ I order loudly before slamming down the phone.
‘Another one?’ Eralia asks, glancing at me with concern.
I nod, giving her a reassuring smile, ‘it’s probably just kids prank calling’ I reply as I pull out one of the trays and rearrange what’s left so they can be seen easier from the other side of the glass counter. ‘Because we always answer, they keep ringing back, it’s annoying but hey, I’m sure you did things like that when you were a kid.’
Eralia laughs, ‘my friends and I would ring up the cute boys in our class and pretend we were other people’ she admits, blushing.
I chuckle, slid……
