Harrison’s POV
I slip and slide my way across along the road, repeatedly checking my phone for signal but it remains determinedly dead. I can’t even feel the cold anymore, all that runs through my mind is that Eden is alone in the cabin and whoever is after me knows that she is there.
I push my legs as fast as I can without falling on my ass, hoping that each bend in the road will reveal the cabin and my woman, safe and well.
Thunder continues to rumble around me, lightning cutting across the black sky, lighting up the deluge of water that is falling around me.
Another flash before a loud crack rips through the air and I throw myself forward just as a tree to my right falls straight across the road behind me.
Turning over from where I’m sprawled in the mud, I breathe heavily at the huge ……
