Hali’s POV
Gage mutters a tight sounding goodbye to his brother, standing up from his chair as he pockets his phone, his eyes moving back to me with a hunger that terrifies me.
‘Sorry’ he sighs, his hungry gaze clearing to give way to a tired, defeated look, ‘there is a problem at the office, I have to go.’
I nod immediately, standing up and holding out my hand awkwardly for him to shake,. ‘Thank you for stopping by’ I state automatically, cringing a little before adding ‘well for whatever reason it was that you came here in the first place.'
Gage slides his hand into mine, his rough palm against my smooth skin doing something to my insides that I'm not entirely sure if I like or not. I always loved rough hands, working man's hands, that’s what they are, hands that have seen hardship. T……
