Hali’s POV
Abbey sits up, facing me fully, a worried frown creasing her brow, ‘what do you mean?’ she asks in concern.
I shrug, picking up my soda can and shaking it before placing it back on the coffee table when I realise it’s empty.
Standing up, Abbey swiped both of our cans from the table, hurrying into the kitchen and returning seconds later with two beers.
‘This feels like a conversation that needs a little liquid courage’ she tells me, holding out that bottle that I take gratefully.
‘Thanks’ I murmur, twisting off the cap and taking a sip, feeling the cold liquid slide down my throat, relaxing me.
‘So’ my friend prods, ‘tell me what’s wrong.’
I groan, m head falling back on the couch again, ‘where do I start?’ I grumble, ‘my life is a s.hitshow Abs.’
Abbey lays a hand on my arm, wait……
