Mackenzie’s POV

My feet are so painful I can barely lift them, word of the bakery reopening spread like wildfire and I had to put on six extra trays of cupcakes over what I would normally bake because so many customers turned up to buy.

Daisy also came over, demanding twenty four of anything I had available to take back to her café, leaving only after she made me promise to make her usual order ready for tomorrow morning.

‘Phew!’ Eralia breathes out, wiping the back of her hand over her forehead, ‘I didn’t even know we had that many people in the town, don’t they have anything better to do than buy treats?’

I laugh, moving the last few items onto three trays, and taking the rest out to be washed.
