Adeline's eyes slowly fluttered open to the rays of sunlight flashing into her chambers. She .oved, her chest slightly heaving as she slowly looked up. She had been sitting next to the window, and the night had passed,offering a bright morning. Just that it was not quite sunrise within the depths of her heart.
She gave a small sigh, her back laying on the wall, her lips parted. She hadn't realized just how close her chamber was to Lucan's, till she was here, needing even the least bit of closeness to him, and all she could rely on the thin, cold wall between them to bridge the gap.
She gave a small sigh, her eyes closing. What if he truly banished her? She had nowhere else to go. Her father was dead, and if he was not, with what she now knew of him, she doubted that she would go back to him……
