"Shall we leave, Your Majesty?" Adeline asked, dropping her water filled hands as she turned to Lucan.

He was watching her still, his eyes thin, but focused and unmoving. Her brows furrowed as she slowly adjusted to face him fully, her eyes slowly taking him in.

"Your Majesty."

He blinked, then moved, his eyes widening slightly as he tore his gaze off her, then cleared his throat.

"I..."

"What is on your mind?"

Lucan took a bit of time thinking before he gave a simple shrug. "Affairs. Come."

Adeline nodded before she slowly covered the distance, her lashes dripping with the rain. Lucan slowly came around her, then gently put his fingers around her waist.

"Does it hurt?"

She shrugged. "I have had worse injuries."
