Lucan's feet tapped slowly against the lush rugs under his feet, his chin resting on his right hand. His defence minister was speaking about some threat on the eastern border, but the only thing he could think of was the woman he had left behind in that chamber.
He closed his eyes and shook his head lightly. This is not him. He was more efficient than this.
"Your Majesty, we are requesting for a few soldiers from the army to join the forces around the borders and stop these miscreants, lest they start to gain some courage."
Lucan ran his fingers along the lines on his forehead. "Is that truly needed?"
The defence minister's brows furrowed lightly. Lucan was always the one to propose things like these. For fires to be tamed before they got too courageous. For miscreants to be ruined before they……
