Lucan watched the slowly rising sun from the large windows of his chambers, his lips slightly tilted downwards at the edges, his eyes blank. Three physicians were standing above him in bed, gently sewing up the wound that he had opened up last night.
He was numb to the pain, and his eyes simply focused on the scenery outside.
"Your Majesty."
He turned to Angel, who was, by himself, carrying a large tray of food, a big smile on his face.
He advanced slowly, then carefully put the food close to Lucan. "Is it too painful, Your Majesty?"
Lucan shook his head. "Tis bearable. Why do you bring food by yourself?"
Angel gave a small smile. "I wanted to do it for you. Seeing you hanging on to life by a thread, it reminded me of how unappreciative of your grace I have been, Your Majesty."
