"Y... your sister?" Adeline asked, her voice lightly cracking.
She had been to Corvalon so many times, and none of Evander's brother looked like they could ever hurt a fly outside of the battlefield. They were incredibly beautiful men, with dignity and honour. But for some strange reason, maybe it was because of Evander's behaviour with her the last time they had spoken, or the audible pain in Lucan's voice, but she was finding it hard to completely disregard Lucan's claim.
"Why?" He asked, letting out a small laugh. "Do you think of me as so much of a monster that I would lie about my only sister's death?"
They were now so close that if she fluttered her lashes, she would be able to touch his. His lips were parted, and the rain ran down their faces in a slow, intoxicating motion.
