"You are not fit to ride," Lucan said, stopping Adeline before she could get on one of the prepared horses.
"Why not?"
"You are hurt," he said simply, tightening his fingers around her slender wrist. "I will arrange for a carriage."
Adeline rolled her eyes before she yanked her arm away from him, her eyes wide. "We are running after a woman, Your Majesty, not attending a banquet. I should take a horse."
Lucan said nothing as she started to grab the horse again, trying to climb it. He sighed and, without a word, grabbed her waist, hauling her over his shoulder.
"Lucan!" She yelled, her fingers hitting his back hard, her body trying to wiggle out of his grip.
He was far stronger, and he did not stop till he got to his own horse and put her on it, then got on the horse before she could put herself ……
