I was in my car heading back to the pack house. My mind still struggled to wrap itself around the news—Catriona was pregnant with twins. Twins. How the hell did that happen? I prayed for one son, and the Moon Goddess laughed and doubled it.
It was 1:00 a.m., the wind howling through the trees, warning of a storm. The forecast said it would rain heavily in two hours, but I couldn’t wait. I had to see her. No—not her. My surrogate. I corrected myself.
Keep lying to yourself, human, my wolf scoffed.
I connected the Bluetooth and called Jerome. The phone rang, but he didn't pick up. I tried again. Voicemail. Where the hell is that fool? I slammed my foot on the gas, driving through the dark forest road that led home.
By the time I reached the pack house, it was 2:00 a.m., and light rain had……
