Selene stood facing a beautiful window in her celestial home, her gown flowing behind her. Stars lighting up her hair. She knew her brother was coming. She had requested his presence this time. No more sneaking up on her.
She sighed and looked at the night sky. She should be out, communing with her children. Did no one pray to the Moon Goddess anymore? A modern world didn’t seem to have as much need for her.
Footsteps echoed in the hallway, and she felt the warm light of Helios entering the room behind her.
“Selene.” He stood, waiting for his sister to respond.
A little starling covered in starlight flew in and landed on Selene’s shoulder. He frowned, he had seen that bird before. On earth. In the sunlight it hadn’t looked Celestially blessed.
