It’s another full moon, but with each that passes, Anders is less afraid of them. Honestly, I think he’s almost becoming excited. He’s barely been in pain from shifting if any at all.


“Why do you make this fish stew every full moon?” he asks after taking another bite. “I’m not complaining, I love it, but you always do.”


“You told me once that it reminds you of your mother,” I tell him softly, feeling a little embarrassed. “I thought it might help you when it was hurting you to shift and now… I don’t know. I just do it still.”


He smiles up at me, a look of surprise tugging at his lips. “Thank you,” he says softly, reaching out to take my hand. “Someday I will tell you more about my parents, but not yet.”
