I’m shocked when I walk into Olga’s home and find the real Anders not only holding Mani but also feeding her.
I look up at Erik, but he shrugs. “He asked me to teach him. She’s the daughter of a Jarl. She will always be well protected.”
I reach to take her, but he hesitates. “I can finish. Sit down and eat.”
Erik shrugs at me again as if this is completely normal behavior, but Erik is the only man I’ve ever seen holding their baby so much.
“He’s not let anyone else around her,” Thora tells me with a smile as she pulls me into the seat next to her. “Not even my baby.”
“How do I know his intentions with her when he will not tell me, huh?” he asks, but he’s not joking. He’s completely serious with his ridiculous question.
