Ember (POV)

I woke up to Rex calling my name.

"I'm here."

"Ember, thank the goddess. Are you okay?"

"Yes."

"Where are you?"

I could feel I was in a vehicle. I could feel it moving. I opened my eyes as little as possible to look around. I didn't want the man who took me to know I was awake yet. It looked like I was in the back of a van. I could see a big heavy chain over my chest. There were no windows back here, but the road was bumpy. Like a dirt road. I tried to look out the front windshield but could not lift my head up to see.

"I think I'm in some kind of van. There are no back windows to look out, and I can't lift my head up to see out the front windshield. The road we are on now is really bumpy. Maybe a dirt road or some kind of stone road."
