Chapter 6

Arianna POV

I awoke feeling cold and lonely. My head was a little groggy and I groaned because I should never have drank as much as I did last night. I am not usually one to drink more than one at a party. I was the responsible one. The one to take care of my friends and make sure they make it home, but last night I let Aaron get to me and used alcohol to soothe the ache it still caused me. I slowly opened my eyes and took note of my surroundings. I sat up quickly once my brain registered that I wasn’t in my dorm room or any room that I recognized. What the hell happened last night.

‘We met our mate last night and mated with him. He was so dreamy, but I couldn’t talk to you. I’m Regina by the way.’ A strange voice said.

“Who…Who is there?” I called out.

‘I already told you my name. Can’t you hear me yet? I was so sure that the wolfsbane wore off by now. Thanks a lot for that by the way.’ The voice said, sounding hurt.

Oh. My. Goddess! My wolf! ‘It’s about time you figured it out. I was afraid the moon goddess gave me a dud for a human.’ Regina said with annoyance.

‘I’m sorry Regina. I didn’t even think about gaining my wolf when I drank the wolfsbane laced alcohol. Please forgive me.’ I replied back to her sincerely.

‘I accept your apology.’ Regina said.

I sighed with relief and looked down at my hands. That is when I noticed that I was naked in this bed. Oh goddess what did I do! I was panicking. I hope I am wrong. I jumped out of bed and if the soreness between my legs and being naked weren’t enough to tell me what happened last night the trail of blood on the sheets did. How could I do this? Who did I do this with? What will I ever offer my mate now that I have nothing left to give him? I was drowning quickly in my despair.

‘Ari, I think you should know something.’ Regina said.

‘What is it Regina? Can’t you see I am in real trouble of rejection from our mate when he learns that I didn’t wait for him!?’ I said back.

‘That is what I need to tell you. We met our mate already. He was the one who took our virginity. Don’t you see? There is nothing to worry about. Mate already mated with us!’ Regina said excitedly.

‘Wh..what? Where is he? Why isn’t he here now? Did he leave us!?’ I replied back. The fact that I lost my virginity to my mate made me feel better, but the fact that he was not in this room any longer brings to question why? Does he not want us now that he got what he wanted?

Regina didn’t have an answer to my questions so I decided to quickly get dressed and leave before anyone I know saw me here. The rumors would spread and get back to Aaron and I would never hear the end of his endless trash talk.

I jumped out of bed and gathered my clothes and put each piece on one by one as I found them. As soon as I was completely dressed I ran out of the room. I quickly realized I was still at the frat house so I knew I wouldn’t run into many people awake at this hour. Most of the students probably just went to sleep a few hours ago.

I breathed a breath of fresh air and let it out slowly the moment I made it out of the house without being seen. I quickly sprinted to my car as best as I could with the soreness still between my legs. I thought my healing would increase once I gained my wolf. Why isn’t she healing me down there yet!?

‘Because I want to have the reminder of our mate.’ Regina sounded indignant that I would even want the proof to be gone.

I just rolled my eyes and placed my finger on the scanner pad in the door panel. Uncle Max and his tech savvy ways. I am thankful I could hide my keys in the car at parties such as this so I don’t have to worry about losing them. I got into the car and found my keys and started it. My phone automatically connected to the bluetooth and I called Jen right away.

“Hello? Ari? Where have you been!? I have been looking for you for hours?” Jen said the moment she answered the phone after the first ring.

“Hey Jen. I am just leaving the frat house. Where are you? We need to get to my parent’s house for my birthday celebration.” I said quickly hoping she would bypass that I was still at the frat house. Unfortunately I was not lucky enough for her to miss that.

“Hold up! Why were you still at the frat house? OH MY GODDESS! DID YOU LOSE YOUR V-CARD LAST NIGHT!!!?” Jen shouted.

I sighed and rolled my eyes as my cheeks were flaming red. “Just tell me where you are and I will tell you all about it. Well what I remember at least.” I said to her.

Jen finally told me where she was, which wasn’t very far from the frat house. I explained everything that I could remember, and what Regina was able to help me piece together. Jen was silent for a long time before she said, “Why would he leave you there by yourself after that? Maybe he had an important meeting or class he had to get to. Did he leave a note or anything?”

“Honestly I don’t know if he left a note or not. I didn’t even think to look for one. I was just focused on the fact that he just left me there sleeping alone after taking my virginity. Plus I wanted to get out of there before anyone recognized me there. I did NOT want to be the new topic of gossip again! That crap with Aaron was enough for me.” I said.

Jen nodded her head and we were quiet the rest of the ride to our home pack and my parent’s house. The whole time I felt like I was leaving a piece of myself back at the academy. Regin’s whines weren’t helping either. I decided to push my mate to the back of my mind and determined I could look for him when I returned to school on Monday. He had to be a student there since he was at the party last night right?

“I found my mate too, but I ran away and hid!” Jen blurted out.

My head whipped to the side and just looked at her for a second before I realized I was driving and put my attention back to the road while I said, “What? Why would you run from him, Jen?”

“I don’t know. He was just so hot and his aura was so powerful. I feared he would reject me because I wasn’t of a higher rank like he obviously was.” Jen said.

“Well don’t we make the perfect pair. You ran away from your mate and my mate ran away from me.” I joked trying to make us both feel better. The car fell silent again and neither of us spoke another word until we pulled up to my parent’s house.

“Well here goes nothing. Please don’t say anything to my parents about me meeting my mate last night. I don’t want to have to explain to them what happened ok?” I pleaded to Jen with my best puppy dog eyes.

Jen snorted at me and said, “Alright. I won’t say anything, but it isn’t because of those sad doe eyes of yours. I’m only doing it so you don’t spill the beans about me running away from my mate. The last thing I want is your parents thinking that I am a coward. I have a reputation with them to keep.”
