Estelle
I was having a serious chat with Izzy over our mind link. I couldn’t be too annoyed with her as I had to put up a serious block because I needed to block out my wolf too. Raine was not in favour of playtime with another wolf.
Normally she tolerated Duncan but I knew she would not have liked todays plans so I blocked her out, inadvertently blocking everyone else as well.
Hence my humiliation. Not that this wolf acted like he had done anything wrong.
“Who the f*** is this wolf?”
“Beta Leighton. Did you not look into anything before we left?”
A beta? He had seemed more powerful than that.
She filled me in on the wolves we were going to stay with. Thankfully my memory was excellent so I would remember all this and not disgrace myself.
I must have dozed off because soon we were landing.
The wolf had explained we would be arriving in Eclipse soon. Alpha Jackson would meet us there along with his friends.
I wasn’t quite prepared for the welcome party when we arrived. Despite being a princess, and a powerful one at that, and used to being in the presence of Kings I wasn’t expecting the raw power that hit me.
I covered my surprise but suddenly my fathers desire to know more about these wolves made sense. I had my guard up but the faces that greeted me were welcoming, expect beta Leighton.
Alpha Luke, welcomed me to his pack. His beautiful mate stood by him. It was hard to believe I was the princess she was so regal looking. When she smiled it was full of warmth and made you feel instantly at home.
The wary part of me was reluctant to relax but Raine didn’t seem concerned.
Alpha Jackson towered over almost everyone and just oozed power. As did the couple beside them. A tall blond alpha with his tiny mate.
“Don’t be deceived, she had a poweful silver wolf, as does the other one.” Raine told me. ,
“Just the shewolfs.”
After Raine confirmed I studied them a bit more intently Alpha Jacksons had a mark but mate was not here which was interesting.
“I’ll let you girls settle in and then we can show you the training centre.” Leighton told us.
“It’s okay we can go now.” I was determined not to seem weak in front of these wolves.
“What? I wanted a nap.” Izzy inked me.
“Toughen up princess.”
Changing into training gear we made our way to training.
“Listen up everyone, this is princesses Isabelle and Estelle. They are here to train like everyone else so no special treatment. Don’t pull your punches.” Leighton addressed the wolves.
I wanted to wipe that smirk of his face so I stood opposite him ready to spar. I watch as he raised an eyebrow and attempted to hide his smile.
Rushing to attack he wasn’t expected the sped that I would move a, quickly having to defend so much that he couldn’t get a hit in.
I rained blow after blow on him, but he didn’t seem too worried. Flashing me a cocky smile I tried to jump over him to attack from behind when I felt him grab my ankle, crashing me to the floor. How had he predicted that move?
I was quickly to my feet but now I was defending and man did his blows pack a punch.
“Raine , a little help here ?”
“Sorry, I think we keep me on the down low for now. You got this.”
Thanks a bunch, a roundhouse sent me flying but I caught myself in time, returning with one of my own.
“Okay. You proved a point.” Alpha Jackson bellowed. Both of us panting heavily and I could see we still had an audience.
“You have some moves princess. Did you father send you here to show off ?” Leighton c****d his head like he was assessing me.
“I think he was hoping that the rumours about these powerful wolves were true. But maybe that’s all they were, rumour. If you can be bested by a mere slip of a girl.
Leighton eyes widened when I said that. Raine had heard his wolf and him taking during our fight. It was a power we didn’t understand as it was sporadic.
“Stop flirting with the hot beta so we can be finished. I’m shattered.” Izzy complained in my head.
“Dinner will be at seven. Leighton will show you both around first one you have changed.”
Alpha Luke spoke this time and then we were left with the surly beta.
“Follow me…. Normally we host the warriors in the dorms at elite training but you two get the special treatment and Luna Thea has prepared rooms for you in the packhouse.”
Dinner was a quiet affair, with everyone exchanging pleasantries. I could tell they were on edge with us but the more time I spend with them the more relaxed Raine became.
“I think they are good wolves.” She said after dinner when I sank into bed, finally exhausted. It felt like I had only closed my eyes when I heard knocking at my door.
My nemesis stood on the other side smirking as he took in my pyjamas.
“It’s a change to see your with clothes on Princess. Hurry up you are late.” He said with a smirk that told me he had seen a lot the other day. My cheeks burned.
“Well that’s a sight you are safe from again beta Leighton. So I hope your memory is good.” I knew how attractive I was and I knew it was a highly likely he would use that image in the future. It didn’t give me the ick like I thought it would.
“Don’t flatter yourself Princess, I’ve seen better.”
“Oh I highly doubt so, but you keep telling yourself that.” I slammed the door in his face, my ego bruised slightly.
A shewolf led training today. She wasn’t as good as Leighton but Raine was interested in her.
“She is a silver wolf too.”
“She don’t seem very powerful?”
“She hasn’t tapped into the bank yet. She needs our help.”
“How do you propose we do that?”
“Can you remember what the witches taught you? Now its time to help others.”
“And you are sure we can trust her.”
Teaching her this would be revealing some of my gifts.
“Yeah, she is a good wolf.”
“Piper is it?” I asked her at the end of training when I got her alone.
“Yes princess, everything okay?” She was definitely wary of me and not as good at hiding it.
“So my wolf tells me you are struggling with your powers ? Well it just so happens I might be able to help.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” She said curtly, turning her back to me.
I was surprised by the denial.
“Raine, a little help here.”
“Sorry princess, you need to wait for her to trust you.”
I groaned out loud in frustration. This was turning into a wasted trip. My father wouldn’t particularly care about the silver wolves. We had plenty of those, although granted none felt as powerful as the little one I met this morning Iris.
I was too lost in my thought that I didn’t notice a grumpy Leighton marching up to me.
“What did you say to Piper?”
I c****d my head, wondering why he cared. I wondered if he ever really smiles, other than that cocky grin when he thought he was riling me up.
“Not that it’s any of your business, oh I in gifted one. I was trying to help.”
I hit a nerve, as he frowned.
“Why do you think she needs help.”
“She can’t control her powers? Actually she can’t access them properly.” I told him before snapping my mouth shut. Why did I tell him that. I was a rubbish spy. Although it might work in my favour. If I got them trusting me they might open up about the other wolves.
