Rhys turns his head to meet Ve’s violet eyes. They are shining, they have a magical light when there is emotion behind them, but he can see her confidence in him. It is not that he didn't believe that he could win, but her belief in him definitely helps him along that way.
It is just that he knows with those words it means that their time in this place is coming to an end, and while it is wild to believe that hiding out in a windowless basement, caring for her for close to a day and then training with little to no breaks the following three days would be considered a holiday. Suddenly, this is all he wants in life and the thought of returning to reality seems like a drag.
