Ever since Agnes passed away, our night duty work has never been the same. We miss her entertaining jokes and encouragement to stay awake and brave throughout the night. I greatly miss her as she was an exceptional female policewoman.
I miss her very much, she was one in a thousand female policewomen.
As I stood on a bench lost in thought, Lorenzo joined me with a cup of Starbucks in his hand. He asked if I was thinking about her and I tried to deny it with a fake smile to hide my true feelings.
" I am not thinking about her ." I tried to deny it, I faked a smile to cover my worried face.
"DPO said our days of night guard at the Klovensteen forest are over," Lorenzo said.
"Really." This news brought joy and sadness to my heart.
"Yes, it's true." He threw the plastic cup into the waste ……
