Saras POV
The fire crackled as another log was thrown onto the bonfire, sending the flames shooting high into the air. The smell of the bonfire was becoming a comfort to me. I watched from a distance as more and more pack wolves started to gather - most of which I did not recognise. I have no doubt they have heard all about the human girl 'playing wolf'. That thought left me feeling embarrassed. Is that what I've been doing this whole time, just pretending to be something I'm not, in desperate need to fit in? I pondered this for a moment. I may not be a wolf, but I have never felt like I belonged anywhere the way I feel I belong here. The sounds of happiness filled the air while long time friends finally saw each other once more. A dust cloud appeared in front of me as Kate jumped to sit down next to me, disturbing the dry dirt in the process. "Whatcha' thinking about, Princess?" The name has stuck ever since the hangover. I can't lie, it's not my favourite name. I smiled at my friend, she was looking beautiful tonight. Her skin was glowing in the light of the fire. She wore small khaki-coloured shorts frayed on the edges, with a cream crochet top exposing her abdomen. She wiggled her toes in the dirt, she quite often went barefoot - she explained it helped her feel connected with the earth. "Nothing." I lied. She lifted her hand, "You sure?" I sighed, relenting. She looks at me laughing with amusement as I start removing my boots.
"I feel like a fraud, Kate. Perhaps your way will help me to feel more connected." I toss my boots to the side, digging my toes into the dirt to bury them. For a short moment, I felt nothing. I thought it would be a moment of clarity - Katie encouraged me to give it a moment. "Just close your eyes and listen with your body instead of your ears." The noises of the world vibrating through it into me starting at my feet. I could feel the different vibrations but couldn't yet understand how one would differentiate them. "Stand up and keep your eyes closed. Katie helps me to stand, "Try to work out which way I'm coming from before I reach you." Complying, I close my eyes and stand, she spins me around a few times to disorientate me. My arms shoot out into the air on either side of my body, hands grasping the air as if trying to grab something that is just not there. There is so much noise, the wind whispering, the chatter amongst wolves, the movement of footsteps nearing, the sound of the animals in the forest moving, the crackling of the fire - I cannot sense where Katie was coming from. I spun, changing my direction, as I spun again I felt a set of hands grab my arms startling me. "Gotcha!" Defeated, I let out a huff as Katie chuckled at me. "You didn't listen to your instincts. You were trying to listen with your ears". She shrugged, smiling.
"I'll get you next time!"
"Maybe... we will see. Let's grab some food." We made our way over to the buffet. Food of every sort; cheeses, meat, cakes and fruit platters - enough to feed thousands constantly being replenished. I choose a skewer of raw meat, heading over to cook it on the bonfire, as Katie stays near the food. As I turned the stick, the meat juices dripped, causing a sizzling 'tss' sound. The smell makes my mouth water. As I picked at the cooked bits of meat, unable to wait, I searched my surroundings to find him. Sure he is here due to the tingling in my spine I get whenever he is around. At last, I spot him on the other side of the bonfire with someone I cannot make out as his back is to me and they are standing in front of him. I stared at his back while simultaneously picking at the now fully cooked kebab. Finally, he takes a small step to the side and I see her long brown hair. Instantly I knew it was Addison, jealously swirling in the pit of my stomach as I tried to push it away, reminding myself that he was already meant for her. It doesn't help. The jealousy continues to build inside me, losing it when I see her touch his arm. Flames shooting higher into the sky as I squeezed my hand so hard the wooden skewer I was holding snapped in two, landing the meat on the floor - someone must have thrown another log onto the fire. The flames being disturbed broke my focus on Drew and, upon looking back to where he once stood, he was now no longer there.
" This seat taken?" A tall, attractive man asked, gesturing to the room next to me on the long fallen tree, the pack now uses as a seat. Sucking in my bottom lip, I contemplated telling him no, but then I was reminded of how I felt seeing Drew and Addison together for a split second and decided I could use the distraction. Looking at this man, there are worse distractions to have. He is tall, around 6' 2", with chestnut brown hair which forms into curls on top of his head, meeting at his beard - yes this man could be a welcome distraction. I smiled slightly, releasing the bottom lip from my mouth and biting it. "Looks empty to me." I playfully stated. His eyes twinkled with mischief as he took a seat. "I've not seen you round here before," I said matter of factly, but I was hoping he would take it as a question. He tells me his name is Lucas and explains he is part of Alpha Edwards pack. However, they are split into multiple packs, all of which are run by their own Alphas. These are Edwards' siblings and cousins. I nodded as I could recall hearing this information before. He explained Edward is the "big alpha", the one even his own alpha follows. "How about you, how come I've not met you before?" He asks, keeping the conversation going, placing his hand on my knee. Still amused at the alpha's nickname, I giggled "big alpha" - I will be sure to call him that! A roar splits through the air, causing the pack to fall silent. I instinctively knew who it was but I was confused about his reaction. "Mine!" I turned to look at him, and he was seething from across the bonfire, his eyes pinned to Lucas's hand on my knee. Lucas spared me a glance, his brow furrowed in confusion, he was looking at me for some sort of explanation - unfortunately, I just did not have one to give him. He lifts his hands up in a 'don't shoot' pose, eyes fixed on the alpha's son. The tension in the camp increases while waiting for the other shoe to drop. Addison tries to pull on Drew's shoulder, whispering to him. The sight sends an ache through me. He shrugged her off before storming away without a word. Disapproving glares from the pack elders following him as he left. Surely enough, the chatter rose again as if nothing had happened. I apologised to Lucas stating I was unsure what had happened- nevertheless, he did not attempt to touch me again. "Causing mayhem again, Princess?" Katie jumped behind me on the tree trunk as I was still turned in towards Lucas. "Ah I should have known you'd be the cause - how are you Luke - long time no see!" She had no sooner sat than was she jumping back up to give him a hug. They reminisce, explaining they had known each other for years. Apparently, Drew and Lucas have never quite seen eye to eye on things. Katie explains how I ended up here to Lucas. "So let me check I am hearing this correctly, Katerina. She is not a wolf?"
"Nope!" She laughed, shaking her head, and I found myself mimicking this action.
"So that whole show with Drew. She's not his mate?" He was in disbelief. "I have never seen a wolf that possessive over someone." Katie just shrugged her shoulders "Don't know what to tell you." She admits. The chaos of the pack continues around us, wolves dancing and joking around. Lucus offered to grab us some drinks while Katie and I danced. We were losing ourselves to the music the wolves had made- it was unlike any music I had ever heard, the music was thumping vibrations travelling through the ground into my still bare feet. We danced for hours just enjoying the night. I felt a wave of liquid flow down my shoulder, soaking my top and sticking to my chest as someone accidentally spilt a drink on me. "s**t. I'm going to go get cleaned up" I explained.
Shouting over the noise, Katie tells me "Use the moon room, it's closer and nobody will bother you."
It took longer than I had expected to arrive at the moon room due to the number of wolves I had to dodge. I walked into the moon room for the first time since the night I arrived. I walked in and closed the door behind me. Light poured in from the moon roof, lighting up the large tin bath that sat directly in the centre of the room, running my fingers across the rim of the tub. I tried to recall the first night I was here. I have not been back to this room since and, truth be told, that night is still very much a mystery to me - my memory of that night is spotty. Whenever I ask Drew what happened, he clams up and changes the subject. I can remember the feeling of the water touching my skin as though it was on me right now. I walk over to the sink and remove my wet, sticky top, leaving only my bar on my chest. I then turn on the taps to fill the basin. The crooked nail was still holding up the large, heavy mirror, and my cheeks raised as I smiled. In the reflection of the mirror, I spot the shower- flashes coming back to me of Drew washing off still dressed in his jeans. Tingles fill my body as though he was already here with me. The door pushes open, causing me to jump in shock. "Drew, what are you doing here?" He seemed different, not saying a word. "Are you OK?" He closes in on me slowly, like a wolf stalking his prey - he stared at me with his eyes half hazel, half blue around the pupil. Strange. He continues to come forward as I back up, my back firmly against the wall. Leaning in, he sniffs from my shoulder, my neck stopping under my ear, a low growl leaving him. He bites at my neck with just a small nip, "ah..." a pleasurable noise leaves me. Gently, his arm reached around to spin me, so my stomach was against the cold wooden walls. From behind me, he brought his left arm around, his hand around my neck with gentle pressure, he tilted my chin, controlling his access to my neck. This act alone sent butterflies swirling in my stomach. Nipping and kissing, he continues up my neck throwing in the occasional lick, making me weak in the knees. Caressing my breast with his spare hand, expertly twirling my n****e between his fingers. "Oh, goddess help me." This was so unexpected and I didn't want it to end. Pushed against my backside, I could feel his huge member getting stiffer by the minute. I bit down on my bottom lip, enjoying every electric touch he was providing. Travelling down my naked abdomen, his hand left my breast, finding his way to my folds. Skillfully he parted them, finding the wet soft centre that was all so ready for him. I was unsure what to expect, having heard it could be painful, slowly he slipped in his first finger, moving it gently in and out of me. I felt no pain, only pleasure and wanted more, my body rhythmically rocking against his hand as he added another finger inside me. Still nipping at my neck more harshly now, but it only added to my pleasure. The pressure I felt building up inside me was something I had never felt. I was sure I was about to burst like an overfilled water balloon. In and out he kept going, a silky liquid coating his hand and my thighs. The water from the sink was pouring out over the sides of the sink, just like the sink I felt someone had turned on a tap inside me. He moved his thumb to my c******s and gently swept it, sending me over the edge. My body convulsed in ecstasy. He brought his fingers up to my lips wiping my wetness over them to allow me to taste myself. He turned me around to kiss me passionately, tasting every bit of me. His solid manhood pressed into me. I closed my eyes as we broke off the kiss, taking the experience in, and listening to the water pour out onto the floor, enjoying the peace it brought. I felt him shake, then when I opened my eyes he was gone. The only thing left to prove he was with me was the bite mark trailing up my neck, like my own personal tattoo.
