Chapter 26
Callista's Point of View
As I stepped into the familiar warmth of our house, a surge of emotions overwhelmed me. The weight of the situation pressed heavily on my heart, and tears threatened to spill from my eyes. My mother, with her concerned gaze, immediately sensed my distress.
"M-Mom," I called out, my voice trembling with anguish. In an instant, she was by my side, enveloping me in a comforting embrace. The dam that held back my tears crumbled, and they cascaded down my cheeks in a torrential downpour.
"Mom, ang sakit. Ang sakit-sakit." Hikbi ko habang mahigpit kong yakap-yakap si mommy, as if she held the answers to all my pain. She held me gently, her hand softly stroking my back, a mother's touch offering solace in the darkest of moments.
"I know what happened, anak. Bakit hi……
