STILL TREMBLING, I gathered all my remaining strength and pushed myself off the bed.

I winced.

Every part of me ached but I forced myself to get up and strode to the door. Based on the noises that I was hearing outside of the packhouse, there was a surprise attack.

It was unbelievable. Who would dare to lay siege to GrimStone in the dead of night?

There was a swarm of pack warriors guarding the entire territory, and they were fully armed as well. What method did they use to get inside? It was nearly impossible to breach our pack, but whoever led the attack must have had a lot of guts.

I exhaled deeply and shook my head. I felt dizzy and weak, but I needed to stay awake.
