Sephora’s POV I was overwhelmed with fury, making it look like this was the first time I'd been rejected by my mate. Jasper happens to be the fifth mate who ended up rejecting me, and the bitter part of it is that they toy with my heart and end up abandoning me to another woman. Aren't Gammas made to find love as well? Is it just Betas and Alphas all the time? As a Gamma, I've sacrificed a lot for this pack. Despite being a werewolf, I still ally with the Lycan Gammas to secure the whole packs—but it looks like we were only meant for war and not love. Jasper is a Lycan, and he knew that I'm a Gamma werewolf, yet he let me fall for him only to be abandoned when I thought I'd be his own. “If he had rejected me privately, that would be endurable. How dare he reject me in public and choose Aria over me? I wonder what friends are for—Aria you betrayed me…." I shot out the arrow and it hit the bull's eye. That didn't calm my temper, I feel like tearing Jasper into pieces…that motherfucker doesn't deserve to live. I grabbed the next arrow and targeted it at the bull's eye again, then shot it out. “Moon goddess, I already told you that I don't need another mate yet you brought Jasper out of the blue—” I growled, stiffened at that point. A tap on my shoulder drew my attention, I turned to see Alpha Jason…he startled me. “You keep talking about Jasper when the Lycan King is your current mate?” he queried. That was true, my recent mate is the Lycan King, and he just approached me today as well. “Selena is a good timer, you know? He knew Jasper was about rejecting you and…” “Enough!” I shut him up. He's the Alpha of my pack and we have been friends since childhood. We attended the Lycan King coronation ceremony a few hours ago and that was after Jasper rejected me. In the presence of the crowd, King Jon approached me, announcing that I was his mate. Guess what? I told him to reject me and that's what I want—I can't find myself trusting or loving a man again in this life. Alpha Jason walked closer. “But you dealt with the Lycan King. Why would you want him to reject you? Do you know how many ladies are hoping for such an opportunity?” he gestured. I felt like punching his nose, he doesn't know how it feels to be rejected by five mates and then the sixth one approaches you. “There's no difference between him and the others—he will still end up rejecting me after all.” “Come on, you would have been crowned his Luna that moment if you accepted the mate bond. I was shocked to my bones when you asked him to reject you or you would do it.” he transfixed his palms on his waist. “I'll give you one piece of advice. King Jon isn't like other mates of yours, so you give him a chance and you won't regret it.” I glared at him. “Maybe I'll go to his palace and reject him myself. I have nothing to do with your gender from now on." I threw the bow on the floor and walked away, heading to the Lycan clan. It's not that far from my pack, so I'll be there within minutes. I have to reject him so the mate bond will disappear because I'll never love that dude no matter how hard he tries. He was so stubborn back there in the coronation ceremony, that I was expecting him to reject me—besides he's a King and shouldn't beg for love ...instead, he was pleading like a child trying to make me believe that I won't regret being with him. “A fat lie! That asshole can't be caring…” I snapped while walking as fast as I could. When I reached his palace, he was standing on the veranda, darting his eyes around. I climbed the short stairs and reached where he was. “Your Majesty!'' I bowed to him and lifted my face only to see him smiling. “You didn't have to do that. You're my mate for goodness sake.” he licked his lips, making me look cheap. “I wasn't expecting your visit, so I was hoping to send my guards to get you here,” he added. My eyes flew wide. What did he just say? “Anyways, I'm not here for any discussion ...I came to reject you myself since you couldn't do it then..” “Why would you? Are you so serious that you want a rejection?” he asked anxiously. I nodded. “Yeah! I've gotten enough heartbreaks from five different men who called themselves my mate, so I wouldn't want it to happen again because I know you'll dump me someday." I retorted, but he grimaced. Was he jealous that I mentioned my past mates or was it just anger that I wanted a rejection? “Those are your past, don't mention them again—and don't compare me with them because I'll never stop loving you like they did.” he gulped. “Well, if you insist, then reject me.” My heart sank into my belly, I lost the courage to reject him like I said. “I Sephora…..” I shook my head in disagreement. “You have to do it because you're the man. Please, reject me, Lycan King. I am just a Gamma werewolf and not a Lycan." This time I was pleading, and the look in his eyes was filled with pity. He held my hands, making my adrenaline rush throughout my body. His gaze was so affixed on my face that I almost lost balance ... .I wonder what is going on in that head of his. “I can't reject you, and you dare not reject me.” “Then I'll never love you, I'll make sure you hate me to the last that you'll have no other choice than to reject me.'' I shrieked at him, less concerned that even the Alpha King of my pack was under him. He smiled at me. “That's why you'll be my servant from today onwards. You won't be able to leave this palace without my order nor will you leave my side. Since you don't wish to be my Luna—you'll be my servant….it's not a request.” he stated boldly. With the look on his face, I knew that he meant it, but I must oppose him. “You forgot that I'm one of the warriors protecting the packs? There's no way I'll stick by your side all day." I exhaled a hot breath. My statement wasn't making sense to him. “Then be my servant and my guard. You have to serve and protect me at all costs.” “What of your Beta? What role will he play if I do all this?” I yelled as he let go of my hand and turned his back. He called on one of the guards who came forth immediately. “Take her to my Beta, he knows what he will do with her,” he ordered and the guard bowed to him. I felt frustrated. My mouth was agape but I didn't know what to say to him, instead, I watched him leave my sight. “If I had known, I wouldn't come around and you wouldn't have found me even if you sent your guards,” I muttered, clenching my fist. “What if he crowns another woman as his Luna? Me, who's the mate will be his servant huh?'' This is so irritating.
