INT. DIEGO'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY (Anne, Diego and Taylor are gathered in the living room, looking worried.) ANNE: What about the business? (Diego responds, concerned) DIEGO: It's going down, Anne. We have to act fast. (Taylor chimes in, trying to offer support) TAYLOR: And, we trust you, our sweet Anne, to save the business. ANNE: Should I speak with Thomas? TAYLOR: Your choice, honey. (Diego's phone suddenly rings, interrupting the conversation, he answers it) DIEGO: Hello? Yeah, I remember. Okay, I'll be right there. Thank you, sir. (Diego hangs up and turns to Anne and Taylor) DIEGO: We have a meeting. TAYLOR: We'll talk when we get back. Bye, honey. (Diego and Taylor exit the room, leaving Anne alone in her own thought. Anne sighs, feeling overwhelmed) ANNE: This is... (Mia enters the room, concerned) MIA: ... stressful, right? (Anne looks up and smiles gratefully) ANNE: Barbie, you came. Thank you so much for coming. (Mia playfully brushes off the gratitude) MIA: What are friends for? Besides, I'm your Barbie doll. (They burst out laughing, as Anne opens up about her struggles) ANNE: It's been a while since I laughed. I'm so tired of life. (Mia offers support) MIA: Don't say that, Anne. We're in this together. (Anne appreciates the sentiment) ANNE: Yes, I appreciate. MIA: How's Thomas handling all of this? (Anne replies, expressing frustration) ANNE: He's swamped with meetings and work. Barely has time for himself. (Mia sympathizes) MIA: That's tough. (Anne agrees with a hint of exhaustion) ANNE: Tell me about it. (Mia tries to lighten the mood) MIA: So what are we doing today? Making hot cocoa? (Anne chuckles, but her stress is evident) ANNE: Seriously, Barbie? I'm hanging by a thread here, and you want us to make cocoa? (Mia persists cheerfully) MIA: You can't kill yourself, right? Say yes. (Anne playfully protests) ANNE: No, Barbie. (Mia continues to push) MIA: Yes, yes, yes. ANNE: Barbie. MIA: Yes, yes, yes. (Anne gives in with a smile) ANNE: Alright, fine, but we'll get to work immediately. MIA: Cross my heart. (Anne starts thinking practically) ANNE: Do you have the ingredients? (Mia assumes they have everything they need) MIA: Don't you have any in your kitchen? (Anne explains her cluttered reality) ANNE: I'm not living in a Barbie house, remember? In my house, the kitchen is filled with documents I have to sort through later. (Mia realizes the challenge ahead) MIA: Oh boy, this isn't going to be easy. ANNE: I know, Barbie. (They burst out laughing) INT. PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL - SELINA'S ROOM - DAY (Laura enters, informing Selena about a visitor) LAURA: You have a visitor, Miss Richard. (Laura escorts Selena out of her room to the visiting room) INT. VISITING ROOM - DAY (Frances anxiously waits for Selena. Selena enters, and sits with Frances) FRANCES: My love, I have missed you. (Crying) Please forgive me, love, but I couldn't get you out of here. We tried, but the judge said it's not safe for you to be outside. But don't worry, I won't give up. I'll find a way. (Selena dismisses Frances' efforts) SELENA: Don't bother. (Frances is taken aback by Selena's words) FRANCES: Huh? What? What do you mean? SELENA: You heard me, don't bother. (Frances pleads with Selena, concerned for her well being.) FRANCES: Love, you've been here for years. Don't you want to be free? Don't you want to have a future? (Selena remains stubborn) SELENA: Do not bother! FRANCES: Okay, you are scaring me, love. Please talk to me. Are you okay? (Laura enters, interrupting their conversation.) LAURA: Time's up. I am sorry, visiting hours are over. You'll have to leave now. (Frances requests a moment longer) FRANCES: Just give us a minute. (Laura insists on following the rule.) LAURA: Ma'am, you have to cooperate with us. She is dangerous. FRANCES: She is my daughter! (Laura remains firm.) LAURA: I'm sorry but I can't make any exceptions. Walk to your room, Miss Richard. (Frances promises to return for Selena.) FRANCES: I'll come back, love. I won't give up on you. (Selena grins) SELENA: Thank you. (Selena walks back to her room. Frances notices something unsettling.) FRANCES: Wait a minute. I saw something. (Laura tries to enforce the rules) LAURA: Ma'am, you have to leave. (Frances suspects mistreatment.) FRANCES: She has never smiled in a manner like that. It was a dangerous smile. I mean, it's a grin. (Laura grows wary of Frances' accusations.) LAURA: Ma'am... (Frances gets angry and raises her voice) FRANCES: what are you people doing to my daughter? Have you been torturing her? (Laura warns against escalating the situation) LAURA: Ma'am, do not trigger the call of securities. (Frances defiantly calls out.) FRANCES: Call them for all I care. I'm coming back for my daughter. (Exits) INT. SELINA'S ROOM - DAY (Laura confronts Selena, angry and frustrated) LAURA: What did you tell her, you cunning little snake? Tell me, or I'll make your life even more miserable. (Selena maintains composure, looking at Laura calmly) SELENA: I told her... I love her. (Laura slaps Selena across the face) LAURA: Don't lie to me! What did you really say? And why did you smile? (Selena chuckles, trying to hide her amusement) SELENA: I didn't smile. (Laura's fury intensifies as she hits Selena harder) LAURA: I won't tolerate your lies, you manipulative witch! Why did you grin like that? (Selena continues to smile, her happiness evident) SELENA: Maybe because I'm happy. Maybe because I've finally realized what I need to do to get out of this place. (Laura's anger turns into determination.) LAURA: You think you're clever, don't you? I'll show you just how wrong you are. Come with me. (She forcibly drags Selena out of the room) INT. PSYCHIATRIC LAB - DAY (Selena sits restrained in a chair, fear in her eyes) SELENA: I am sorry, please don't shock me. (Laura, a cold and calculating psychiatrist, ignores Selena's plea) LAURA: Too late. (Selena maintains her composure, unfazed by Laura's action) SELENA: Indeed. (Laura reacts in shock as Selena stabs her.) LAURA: You... witch... (Selena, cold and calculating, doesn't flinch.) SELENA: Rot in hell, Laura. (Laura chokes, struggling to speak. Selena smirks, her laugh filled with malice.) LAURA: You... are... s-sick. (Dies) (Selena continues to laugh, unaffected by Laura's demise) SELENA: You don't have to tell me twice. Now for the alarm. (She turns on the alarm, initiating a false cry for help. Other doctors rush into the lab.) PSYCHIATRIC DOCTOR 2: Oh my God! Dr. Laura! (Selena pretends to be in distress) SELENA: I am seeing blood for the first time. PSYCHIATRY DOCTOR 3: What happened? SELENA: I want to speak with the woman doctor. PSYCHIATRY DOCTOR 4: Don't worry, guys. I will hear her out. (Other doctors exit, leaving Selena and the female doctor alone.) SELENA: (assertive) Let's switch places. I want your clothes. PSYCHIATRY DOCTOR 4: (in shock) What? SELENA: Cooperate, or you'll end up like Dr. Laura. PSYCHIATRIC DOCTOR 4: so you... oh my god. INT. VISITING ROOM - DAY (Selena enters in disguise, scanning the room for the keys) PSYCHIATRIC DR. 5: Doctor Amber, calm the other patients down SELENA: Okay, Doctor. Where is the key to the exit? (Dr. 5 gives Selena the keys) PSYCHIATRIC DR. 5: Return it when you are done. SELENA: I will. PSYCHIATRIC DR. 5: Okay. (Exits) SELENA: let us go calm the patients down. Fools! (Selena exits laughing maliciously) --- INT. PSYCHIATRIC LAB - DAY (The doctors realises Selena's evil scheme) PSYCHIATRIC DR. 4: She is crazy. PSYCHIATRIC DR. 2: All doors should be shut immediately. PSYCHIATRIC DR. 5: (enters) I gave the keys to Dr. Amber. PSYCHIATRIC DR. 4: You gave the keys to Selena. PSYCHIATRIC DR. 5: No! (Rushes out.) PSYCHIATRIC DR. 2: Let's go. (All rush out.) EXT. ABANDONED BUILDING - NOON (Selena is now outside the psychiatric lab, free from its confines) SELENA: Free at last, Daddy. Your plan to keep me there forever failed. INT. FRANCES'S HOUSE - KITCHEN - NOON (Richard questions Frances about her action.) RICHARD: Why did you go there? (Frances, defensive, defends her decision) FRANCES: What do you mean? She's my daughter. RICHARD: Your daughter has gone cuckoo. (Frances reacts with disbelief) FRANCES: She isn't crazy. What is wrong with you, Richard? She's our daughter. RICHARD: I know, Frances, but our daughter needs help. FRANCES: I can't believe you, Richard. (Upset, Frances storms off) RICHARD: Frances...Fra... that Selina (Richard groans angrily) --- EXT. ABANDONED BUILDING - NOON (Selena, free from the psychiatric hospital, laughs. She dials Jake's number) SELENA: I am out, Jake. I am out. (Jake, on the phone, tries to reach her.) JAKE: Where are you? SELENA: Hello, I can't hear you. (Hangs up) No one can know where I am. (Laughing) FADE OUT
