Life Sucks

"Jessie come outside and play!!" my baby sister shouts "I will! Just give me five minutes, love!" I shouted back . It was breezy outside. Not cold but enough for a sweater. The leaves fall to the ground with grace. All the autumn colors glowed in the sun. It felt like a perfect wonderland filled with magic. I look over to my sister. She was wonderful and so bright. She never had a problem with being the center of attention. Sometimes I think mom liked her the best. That's okay though. Why? Because I'm going to college next year in the spring and I'll have my own dorm room with roommates. I'll be sad leaving Lucy behind but I know she will grow into a great woman. . I finished making lunch for Lucy and I. Let me say I slaved over this food, I just hope shes not being picky. I called Lucy over and to my luck she ate almost everything. I made her a heart pbj with homemade pizza rolls and of course I had to put veggies in them but it was the only way she would eat them. We finished up and I cleaned the dishes while she watched Moana over and over again. I kinda wanna break the disk but she's happy so I'm happy. . "I love you Jessie! you're the best sister ever!" Lucy runs to hug me. "I love you too my little rug rat!" I gave her a kiss and tucked her into bed. . Little did I know... everything will change in a matter of days. I lost everything I ever loved. Now I have to move on with my life and start surviving for myself. The day the government decided to use people for their experiments. The city was in shambles. The sky was an orange color but the smell of sour decaying flesh was all around us. Turns out, our president wanted to see what would happen if a disease was focused on one area. He had no control over the the experiment which lead to the Hy-Virus to travel across the world and wiped out almost all of civilization. The only ones left were the strongest or smartest, I was the smart one, to survive. . I was at my best friend Tara's house having a sleepover. When the TV adruply changes to an emergency broadcast. the man on the TV looked sick. Not a flu kind of sick but like his world fell apart sick. As we listen to what he has to say that's when my world fell apart. There was a bomb. No one knew where it came from and we were being told to just stay inside until further notice. "No one is to leave their houses. If you are at work you can not leave. You must stay inside. The military will be arriving at about 6am to deliver food and water. That's all the information I've got for you folks. please...." the news mans voice started to crack "Please stay inside. This is not a test. It's a matter of your safety and others. Do not, I repeat, Do not open the door for anything. may God guide you all to safety. This is channel 5 news with Doug Winters. Goodnight." . Me and Tara looked at each other confused. "Why can't we go outside though??" Tara questions "ooohhh what if it's giant spiders roaming the city and they wanna sell us vacuums oOoOOoO" she giggled . "What about my sister though? what if she gets scared?" I worried . "Relax! I was just joking and your mom is home isn't she?" Tara tried to comfort me . "Wellllll.... I guess your right I just texted mom anyways just to make sure and tell her what's going on. I just hope she doesn't think it's fake news" I laughed . "Good. now let's watch some movies and I'll have you make the snacks because your so good at it." she stuck her tongue out at me . "Carful I make mean veggie pizza rolls that taste like pizza." I smirked . "EWeEWEweee noooooo!!" we both laugh at that statement but we continued our night hopefully I can go home tomorrow and make up for lost time with Lucy. with that we passed out with snacks and drinks all over the room, pretty sure Taras mom would be pissed, but we had fun. it was all about to end when we woke up the next morning to chaos in the streets and fire spreading everywhere.
