The monster within

Dracula also known as Athan. He's a vampire , a very powerful Vampires with many abilities. But he's also one of the Richest man the world has ever known. He owns countless companies. He's been for his intimidating stature , his cold heart and yet the most handsome man. Every girl wanting a piece of him but he couldn't be tamed. But what made him so cold? • The Past • "Why would you do this to me? What did I ever do to this?" Layla cried as she held a sharp dagger against her neck. "It's nothing you've done okay? It's me I'm the problem? Now put the knife down so we can talk about this." Dracula explained taking a step towards her. "Was I wrong to love you ? Was it a mistake to fall you?" Tears cover her pretty brown eyes. Her white long hair messy from all the crying. "No honey you did nothing wrong." "All this years? All these years I've been by your side! All these fighting for us and this is how you repay me? Is this how you repay me!?" She cried painfully her heart pounding in pain. In all her years of life she never thought she could see herself in this position. She never thought the world could be this cruel. "It's been a thousand years Layla! The spark has to burn out sometimes. It hurts I know cause it's hurting me too. I'm sorry but I can not force myself you to love , when there is no more love." This words felt like a knife through Layla's heart. The she's loved for so long and still love putting her in this position. She wished she could understand where he was coming from. She wished she could see where it went wrong. "I loved with your imperfections , your darkest parts. I allowed you in my heart , I gave up everything for you. I chose you over my family and now this what I get as a thank you ?" She sobbed as she tried to swallow the lump that had formed in a throat. Remembering how her family had warned her about him but she thought they were jealous of her finally finding happiness. She turned her back on her family but she regrets why she ever did. She regrets why she never listened to them. "Layla please stop." He took another step towards her. "Love is supposed to mold into something wonderful , something beautiful. But let's what happens when it turns you to a monster? When you can't escape like I did?" With those final words Layla drove the dagger through her neck slighting her throat apart. With a loud thud her body hit the ground. The rose petals that decorated the floor swept aside. "Layla! No!" Dracula ran towards her lifeless body. Blood covering her white long hair. He picked up her lifeless body hoping she was alive but she was long gone. She had left the cruel world to find piece. He took the box that was sitting next to her and opened it. It was beautiful red crystal pendant. She wanted to gift him with it since it was their anniversary. He felt so terrible and blamed himself for this mess. Not knowing what to do she left her cold body in the room hoping someone else would find her. He left their home and went to start a new life. He swore to never go back again and always blamed himself for her death. If he would have loved her none of this would have happened in the first place. ** ** 500 years after Layla's death he found himself yet another beautiful angel. Dark brown hair , golden eyes with a beautiful heart. with such enthusiastic energy. Lilly Walked upstairs to meet his love. They were supposed to be having dinner but he didn't show up. He also shows up , so she wondered what could be the problem. Maybe something was bothering him. Maybe he was nervous about their marriage. "Knock-knock!" She hit her knuckles on the door. " Go away!" He shouted on the other side of the door. Her voice sounded more hoarse than normal which made Lilly even more curious. "Sweetheart? Is everything okay?" She asked concerned. " I'm fine! Just leave me!" But he didn't sound fine. Lilly She could sense something was wrong with him . She could sense he was hiding something. Lilly Opened the door but it was locked. This kind of behavior was scaring her. It was something new to her. "What is he having second thoughts? Is he doubting our marriage?" She could understand because in not so long he was happy about it. What could have changed his mind? Lilly more curious she went downstairs to find the gaurd with the spare keys. "Sydney can I talk to you for a minute?" She called for a old guy. "Yes mam." He bowed as he approached her. " My fiance upstairs won't let me in. Can I have on of your spare keys?" " I'm sorry mam but the king wants some privacy." He said as he still bowed his head. "That's nonsense you speak. Something bad could be happening him. He could be dying for all I know. And if going to marry him I have to know what's going on in that room. If you're not going to help me… Fine!" She snatched the keys away from him and stormed away. "Mam please don't do this! I'll lose my job." He Lilly chased as she went up the stairs. "Nonsense! If he threatens to let you go you can blame it all on me." She run up as Sydney followed behind. "Don't do this Lilly." He said breathless as he was too old to be running up the stairs. Lilly ignored him and went straight to his room. Fiddling through the keys she found the fitting one. She opened the door and before Sydney could stop her she ran inside. "Baby I was so worried about you. Is everything okay?" She said in the dark looking at his silhouette next to the window frame. "I tried to stop her but she wouldn't listen." He stumbled into the room out of breath. "Don't come any closer? " He forbids her as she took a step closer. "Sweetheart what's wrong? You know you can always talk to me. Let me help you." " You can't help me Lillian." His voice grew louder and more hoarse. Almost that it was scaring her. But she wanted to know what was going on. "Then maybe we could find a way to help you. I can't help if you're keeping me in the dark. We are getting married remember? That means we can't hide secrets from each other." Lilly Took a few more steps closer. " Please Lilly don't come any closer." He took a step turning away to the wall. "But why?" "Because I don't want you to see me like this!" " See you like what?" She walked even closer. " Lilly! please don't do this." "Is this a game? Tell if this is a game " she walked even closer as she thought he was just playing around. "Ahhh!!!!" She felt on the ground and was paralyzed in fear. She could move to run away and couldn't take her eyes off the hideous monster. "Please go away! Please don't hurt!" She cried and begged for her life. She couldn't describe what was before her eyes. His pale but dark skin , his dirty looking claws , his ugly razer sharp teeth , his hideous eyes and the nasty scary face. She saw a horror in front of her , a nightmare. Dracula looked at her with sad eyes. Seeing how his love was shuddering in fear. "Mam are you okay?" Sydney came running towards them. But abruptly stopped and his eyes widened when he saw what was standing before him neither could he run. "Sad hhuhh?" He said as he looked at the petrified man. With that he fell on the ground and died in heart failure. Clearly he had never seen something so hideous before. Hurt and deviated he had to flee away. The poor girl was terrified and she kept having nightmares. She could take that she eventually took her life.
