THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER

''Arghhh'', I said with so much frustration with tears in my eyes as I burnt through another cloth weaving. My fire powers are getting out of control and I fear I might not be able to hide them for much longer..           I know most of you are like, ''she's crazy, who wouldn't want fire power?'' But the thing is I am a commoner. I am not meant to have such powers. You see, in the magical kingdom, we have five categories:      1) The commoners: this is the category I fall into. We basically live in the village. The only power we have is the ability to move things with our minds within a very short distance and also do chores, like make the brooms sweep by themselves etc.       2)The warriors: They are sometimes called the defenders. From their name, I'm sure you can guess their job. They defend our kingdom from dangers. The higher rank they are, the higher job they get. The lowest rank is always situated in the village to protect us while the highest rank is situated with the royals. They are able to make fireballs, blasts. They can also teleport to a short distance. This is essential especially during battles.      3)The nobles: first, no they aren't called the nobles because they are rich. They are actually called nobles because they have certain powers. Sometimes it's a unique power, sometimes it's passed from generation to generation and sometimes, they are blessed with it by the royals. They only have single powers. They can't have more than one. There are the light nobles (control light), fire nobles (control fire), water nobles (control water) etc      4)The protectors: They are the second most powerful in the kingdom. Each protector is bonded to a royal. They are born with a tattoo of a shield and two swords over it on their chest. At the age of ten, they begin to train till they are 13 when the symbol of the Royal they are bonded to appears above their initial tattoo. They have many powers.      5) The Royals: They are simply the most powerful magical creature, period. They have many powers. When every royal heir gets to the age of 18, a crowning ceremony is held.       So having said all that, I think you now understand why I CAN'T have fire powers. If anyone finds out, I'm worried I might be in a huge trouble. Even my parents and younger brother do not know about it.  ~~~~~~~~~~~ About an hour later,  the clouds were beginning to retreat just as the sun was going to sleep, I decided to go to the blue river( it is technically blue). They are many rivers in the kingdom: blue, green, yellow, orange etc, just name it and you will find it. The most powerful river, the rainbow river, is in the castle. Only our kingdom has a rainbow river. I'm sure you think my kingdom is the only magical kingdom but you are wrong. There are about 40 magical kingdoms but 6 kingdoms are the most powerful: The Lion kingdom, The peacock kingdom, the bear kingdom, the eagle kingdom, the owl kingdom and my kingdom, the Unicorn-Dragon kingdom. My kingdom is the most powerful of all. The king is the king of all the other kings. The second most powerful is the Peacock kingdom. There are stories that 17 years ago, their king, queen and daughter died, so the next in line took the throne and let me tell you this, the new Royal family of Peacock kingdom are terrible. Many say the old king and Queen were very peaceful and sweet.       Okay, back to the story. The blue river can cure little injures. I'm sure you are wondering which injure I want to cure. Well Jake, my younger brother, just returned home after having a fight with the Satyrs again!! Those creatures are dangerous when angry. It seems they teamed up with the wood nymphs ( they get along so well because they are both nature creatures) because his eyes are swollen with blue colour over them, his entire eyes are black (pupil, iris - everything!!!) And the yellow liquid is coming out of it. They must have hit him with one of those powerful huts they have. This isn't the first time it's happening.      As I was getting the water, I decided to take a lot so I can make apple-raspberry pie for them. Not only does the blue river cure minor injures, but it also adds get tastes to food. My parents are returning from a neighbouring kingdom - the fish kingdom- they went over to try to work. My dad is a singing pumpkin farmer ( weird right?? ) and my mom is an amazing weaver!! ( I learnt from her). Magic weaving takes months to master, but I learnt it in a day!! My mom was shocked but we concluded I was a fast learner. Anyways, they went to sell some of their products there and will be back today.       Just as I was about to leave the river, my winged unicorn friend, Star, appeared. How I became friends with a unicorn - a winged one at that, I don't know. Dragons and Unicorns are the symbols of the kingdom. They are well respected. The dragons are more reserved and are mostly in their caves so you won't see them unless it's an emergency. The unicorns however are always around but never seen in the village unless a royal, noble, protector was passing by. The wingless unicorns are always seen around the nobles, however, the winged unicorns are always with Royals so imagine my shock when I saw one in front of my house one evening, months ago.       ''Hi star'' I said      ''Hi,'' she replied in my mind. Okay hold on, Unicorns can only speak to nobles, protectors, warriors and royals while winged unicorns can only speak to royals and protectors, but very very very very few commoners are blessed with that power.      ''Come to the blue river tomorrow by 10 pm'' she said      ''Why?'' I replied curiously as I lifted the pale of water.      ''Just come'' she said as she bent down for me to get on then she flew me to my hut. She flew very high to prevent people from seeing us. As we flew, I looked down at the creatures. The fairies were flying to their houses on the trees, the wood nymphs were entering inside their various trees, the water nymphs were retreating into the water, the satyrs were going to their houses that are built inside the woods. Mermaids are also in water and so on. when we got to my hut, she dropped me and said, ''don't be late tomorrow'' and flew away.
