The Beast within

Introduction.   I always thought that life was full of surprises and my mother and father even told me so, but with what others did, said and talked about it still surprised the hell out of me. I knew my father and mother weren't really my real parents, I was told that when I turned thirteen, they told me that my real parents died when I was just a young child and not even able to talk yet. My mind was full of thoughts, the least being the thought of having to go to school. Were-High School, it was a strange name for a school, but I didn't think much of it at the time. Little did I know that it was a school for werewolves and my life was about to be turned not only upside down, but inside out as well. Chapter 1   Casey's P.O.V    It was a bright sunny Monday morning and I laid in my bed with the covers pulled up over my head. I didn't want to get up just yet, but I knew I had to get up and get ready for school. I begrudgingly got up, took my shower and got dressed, wearing a pair of faded jeans, a pink v neck shirt, I put my socks and my knee high boots on, I did my make up and did my hair in a messy bun. I went to the full length mirror to take a look at myself, I wasn't the skinniest or the prettiest girl, but I looked alright, at least I thought so. I ran downstairs, got me a muffin and orange juice, kissed my mom and dad on the cheek and waited outside for Katherine to drive up. Five minutes later, I heard her tyres squealing and saw her black dodge truck coming to a halt on my driveway.   "Get your ass in here, girl, we're going to be late." Katherine screamed, as she rolled down her window, laughing, I did as she said and got my ass in the truck, shutting the door behind me just in time as she took off. Twenty minutes later and we were at school, Katherine was a feisty girl, with red hair, green eyes and a beautiful smile, she was always wearing the latest fashion. We hopped out of the truck and walked towards the school, many students were standing talking, laughing, joking and just as we reached the school, the bell rang for the first period class. My first class was English and I got to class before the teacher came in and took my seat in the back. I always sat in the back, it seemed the kids left me alone and pretended I wasn't even there. I opened my English book and started to read, the door to the class opened and Mrs.Hicks walked in.   "Morning class, I hope you all did your homework for today." Mrs.Hicks announced, some students groaned while others like me, handed our papers upfront.    "Okay everyone turn to page 167 and read." Mrs.Hicks said, while she checked our home work, not more than five minutes later, the door opened to the class and Mrs.Hicks turned her head smiling.   "Well hello Jake, come on in and take a seat. Everyone I want you to meet a new student. His name is Jake." Mrs.Hicks said, gesturing for Jake to find a seat.   "Hi Jake."  We all said and then looked back down, continuing to read. I was looking down at my book, when I felt someone looking down at me, I looked up and was looking into the most amazing dark blue eyes.    "Hi, my name is Jake. can I sit here?" Jake said, smiling brightly, I nodded yes and then looked back down at my book. Throughout the whole class Jake kept staring at me, what is his problem? I was about to look up and ask him, when the bell rang for the next class. I gathered my books up and started walking to the door to meet my friends, Katherine, Rachel, Duggie and Pug. They were waiting for me because we were all in the next class together, but Jake stopped me before I made it out of the door.   Jake's P.O.V   As soon as I walked into the classroom I smelled it and I knew my mate was here. Her scent was so intoxicating, it was honey and vanilla. After the teacher had announced my arrival and told me to take a seat, I followed the smell and walked straight over to the most beautiful girl I had ever laid eyes on. I sat next to her, but I couldn't concentrate on the class, as I couldn't stop staring at her. When the bell rang and class was finally over, I rushed to her and asked the most idiotic thing ever.   "Hey, can I walk with you? My next class is math and I'm not sure where to go." I said, panicking, s**t I know where to go I just want to keep smelling her scent. All I want to do is claim her as mine, but I have to stand my ground and not scare her. I hope no one has claimed her as their mate yet, because as of right now, she is mine.
