In the past. It's the end of summer afternoon Sky is light blue with the sun beeming in the background and a light breeze blowing in a silent hallway. 'Ding ding ding' the school bell rang for the last time signaling summer holidays had just started. The sun was still pretty high as the siblings had only been at this new school for 2 weeks now. Darius and Lisa were making their way home as they only lived a few blocks away. Being werewolves both Darius and Lisa were forbidden to fight with humans and were told to avoid conflict until all studies were complete and to protect Aro. while walking along the footpath the siblings could feel eyes on them, to avoid the eyes they crossed the street to take a shortcut in the small running track near the back of their house. "look it's the new girl she's walking with the new hot guy..whats their deal are they dating or are they related??" a couple of girls are watching as Lisa and Darius cross the road "Let's go say hi guys," the mean girl says to her friends as some of them throw away smokes and stand up. As they start to follow them walking up to the running track there's a clearing just before the running track starts. "Hey, new girl! hey, come over here" one of the girls says and Lisa looks at them and walks faster ignoring the girl. "get her," another girl says with anger from being ignored as 4 girls run to Lisa and pull her back then start to push her around and hit her. "LEAVE HER ALONE!!" Darius shouts out and grabs Lisa pulling her in covering her and shielding her from the kicks and punches. The group of boys that followed the girls grabbed Darius holding him down as they started to punch and kick him the girls doing the same with Lisa. The sounds of cries and screams fill the clearing as both Lisa and Darius are being held down and beaten. from nowhere lightning strikes a couple of times in front of Lisa and Darius and the weather suddenly turns gray everyone stops what they were doing not even a sound or warning and there is a little girl about 10 years old, she looks a lot like Lisa but smaller standing where the lightning struck. The air is stiff and no one says a word it's complete silence all the human teenagers stand in shock and fear as the young girl's face shows a pure will to kill. This little girl's eyes are glowing bright blue as she steps forward holding out her hands "ARO NO!" Darius screams but the little girl takes no notice of him and smiles a wicked smirk. Then slowly each one of the bullies is squished screaming in pain until the screams are silenced by the sound of lightning. then the smell of burnt flesh hits the air. 8 years later... Aroha pov I posted up in my room headphones in while sitting at my computer. From the corner of my eye, I can see my phone light flashing as I'm trying to clap this bot in a 1v1. I stop playing as I feel something strange in my powers this feels new I think to myself unsure of what this feeling is but I'm not too fond of it my chest feels heavy and my soul almost feels empty don't like this I know it will make me angry and I'm very aware of that emotion so I chose to ignore it and carry on with my gaming it's a bit hard at first to keep playing but I force myself to enjoy it. After another 30 minutes, I pull my headphones out and I hear banging on my bedroom door. I don't notice because I feel safe here at home with my grandparents since I've glamored the house. I quickly rush to the door and throw it open my eyes wide. Standing there I see my grandma crying and my grandpa holding her with tears in his eyes. out of nowhere she grabs me and hugs me tightly. I'm so confused I stand there dumbfounded I don't like being touched and they know this so I try to act like it's ok and stand very still. "what's going on?" I say looking down at my grandma frowning letting my eye scan her to see if she's injured and checking her heart rate and blood flow just with my eyes as they shine bright green and blue. "I'm so sorry honey," Grandma says the expression on my face shows I'm confused she catches on steps to the side, and looks into my room. "sweetie your phone it's your father" just as the word father left her mouth I was in front of my phone picking it up in the blink of an eye. I haven't seen or heard from my family in years i get random things from them during holidays and birthdays but I was never allowed to go stay with them. but I still love and miss them. "hello?..Aroha baby... it's dad.." I take a deep breath in. He sounds indifferent almost like he's trying not to cry so I stay silent and let out a deep breath I never knew I was holding and the windows and doors in the entire house slam open with a loud BANG causing Grandma and Grandpa to jump with surprise... "we've been attacked and.." all I hear is him sobbing lowly and he can't finish his sentence so I raise my hand and pull down all my spells and glamorous I put on my grandparent's house to hide and protect me nothing could go in and out unless I allow. As the spells are coming down I'm hit with the same feeling I got just before when my chest was heavy and my soul empty and someone's powerful energy that's sitting at my barriers flies straight towards me and knocks me down to my knees. I'm crying uncontrollably and the weather around the town we live in turns gray and starts to rain. "They're gone.." I whisper with tears running down my face as the words leave my mouth with no emotion..my mother...my sister were dead. so many questions are racing in my head..why? when? most importantly who? My mind racing 100 miles an hour I'm lost in my thoughts straight away. "Aroha baby are you there?" My dad's voice brings me back to earth just as my mind is going into overdrive what I'm feeling and what I'm thinking don't match up. I can hear my dad crying his emotions pouring into me sadness an emotion I'm all too familiar with being away from my family and then anger starts to fill my body I hate feeling sad it makes me feel weak it makes me angry...I need to get off the phone and calm down before I start ragging hell on this earth I've never felt like this ever. outside a storm is happening it looks like it's about to kick off. "I'm coming home" is all I breathe into the phone before giving the phone to Grandma reach for my bag and start to pack. She grabs hold of my hand on the bag and our eyes meet she flicks her head to the door angry tears about to fall from my eyes as I nod and make my way outside. I know I need to calm down but this is just too much my breathing is heavy I feel my power is about to burst with the new power my body just absorbed and the angry temper I need to blow something up. walking out of the house I stripped my clothes leaving them on the back lawn feeling the cold air on my skin felt so good and it was cooling me off steam coming from my body. I was heading to the forest in a light jog that turned to a run as I hit the tree line I jumped and transformed into my wolf her name is Astro she's a fully white colored wolf with a black patch around her left eye and on her paws. "It's OK Aroha we are here for you we will find who did this to our mother and our beautiful sister" I hear Astro speaking to me in my head as Alice nods her head and agrees. Alice is my witch very very clever and very powerful. All I do is nod and we take off into a sprint. letting the wind hit our fur as we run pushing power into our legs. I reach my spot on the mountain and sit naked on my rock right at the top I start letting out loud cries as lightning and rain are seen across the sky. My tears become even heavier as I'm crying I lift my hands to the sky feeling all my power I bring my hands down with so much power that the sky goes from night to day as far as I can see for a couple of seconds before the entire earth shakes causing me to lose balance as I land on the ground crying.. my sister and mother I haven't seen for 8 years have gone I will never see them again talk with them again or even be able to touch them again causing me to become angry once again and the power surging in me is like hellfire nothing will stop it. As my crying turns into sobs the weather starts to calm down. "we're going home" I point out as my wolf and witch nod towards me in my mind"Let's go Aro we've got you," both Astro and Alice say to me to get me off my butt and moving. As I get to the backyard of my grandparent's house I put on my clothes and head inside for a quick shower and to pack. As I'm getting out of the shower to change Grandma has already packed my gear and pulled out my hoody and track pants for the flight. I grab my laptop tablet and phone making sure my consoles and PC are packed. I grab my headphones and make my way downstairs to meet Grandma. Before I leave I do a run around the house as my grandparents pack up the car to leave for the airport putting up extra barriers as I've told Grandpa to stay here until I call for him. We had a special bond after he was attacked and I went missing for a week. "all done sweetie?" Grandpa asked as he finished hugging Grandma. I nod tapping away at my tablet and hand it to Grandpa " now baby I'm putting my beloved lady in your hands on this trip I want you to look after her and protect her for me" I smile at Grandpa and Grandma chuckles " ohh darling I've always protected her we will be fine" Grandpa laughs and looks at me with his cheeky grin. " I was talking to Aro my love, not you," he says jokingly pulling her in for another hug Grandma's face drops as Grandpa laughs and I smile sadly. I am not one for emotions for most of my life the only emotion I've been dealing with was anger but being sad was a lot more dangerous for me and the world it was an unhealthy cycle for me. As we reach the airport there are a lot of people walking around and running to gates I grab my bags and grandma's and make our way to our gate for our flight. As I'm sitting in my seat waiting for the plane to take off Grandma is sitting next to me worried look on her face making sure I'm ok I smile sadly at her and lean back in my seat I don't have a fair for flying I can fly without a plane but somethings I need to keep to myself. you see my grandma is also a witch very powerful and always looking for more power. nowhere near as powerful as me and nowhere near as smart. Then I had long blonde hair with one green eye and one blue eye it never really bothered me that I was different and my older brother and sister didn't mind either we truly loved each other. The day I had to come here my mother had to knock all three of us out and heavily sedated me for a few weeks till I calmed down. I missed my family so much. I started to think about my mother and my sister..who would do this who would go after my family and hurt them? Who? and Why? as I start to think of all the bad things I'd do to them the weather around the plane starts to turn gray and starts to rain..I can feel Grandma's grip on my hand and my eyes open glowing bright green and blue I take a deep breath in and one big deep breath out. this is going to be one long plane ride maybe I should have sedated myself. Darius pov I can't believe my sister and mother are gone I sit and think about what I should have done what u could have done but in the end, I couldn't do anything..I'm sitting in my room I just got back from the morgue I'd been there the past 9 hours waiting. My little sister was coming home after 8 years I'd be able to hug her hold her and tell her I missed her I was so angry with my parents for years when they sent my little aro away to live with my grandparents. I wonder how she lived was she lonely I know she had our grandparents but the connection we had as siblings was unbreakable even till now. I was thinking of ways to keep Aro happy while she is here with us I want to take her for ice cream go to the waterfall she loved to swim at and just laugh like we used to. There's a knock at my door..shit who could that be..I just lost my mum and sister I don't want to see or speak to anyone I just want to see Aro i feel so lost without Lisa and Mum. there's a banging on my door and I'm not in the mood just by the smell I know it's Lexi I open my door to see Lexi standing there with her arms crossed angry and I don't have time for this my mother and sister just died I'm not keen on her or her attitude. " what do want Lexi?" I spit with venom in my mouth " look I'm sorry I yelled at you for not picking me up I don't know what came over me.." she says pushing her way into my room... "I wanted to know if you were still keen on going to that party tonight?" is she for real I just lost my mother and sister and she's asking me about a party?.. Selfish I say to myself as I shake my head. "my mother and sister just died and you're still making it about you? get out Lexi I never want to see you near my room again GET OUT! WE ARE DONE!" I scream at her letting my alpha power drip off me like a heat wave and she jumps up and quickly runs out of the room. "Darius my office now" Dad calls over the mind-link I grab my hoody Lisa got me threw it on and rushed down to Dad's office. Aro flight should be landing soon pushing the heavy doors open I stride on in as Dad is on the phone "They will be flying in in less than 2 hours get it done now or I'll send Darius down" he hangs up the phone and takes a deep breath in and then out sighs. he looks tired sad run down but keeps his head high and stands up to walk toward me and joins me on the soafer. "Son your sister will be here in a few hours. when she gets here you will not leave her alone she will have the room across from yours so I hope you got rid of Lexi for good. if your sister catches anything funny who knows what she might do to that girl" he says in all seriousness. "I did Dad and if she does come back I'll let my little aro have her" I smirk as Dad smiles sadly while shaking his head "Not sure you can call her little anymore son it's been 8 years a lot has changed" just then his phone rings so I leave him to it I rush down to the garage to catch Ben dads new beta. Dad chose him yesterday as a step-in after Dad's real beta died protecting my sister and mother. "Ben you ready to leave?" I was in a rush to see Aro I wanted to be the first one she saw when she got off the plane. he nods at me No one knows my sister but they have met my grandparents. Just as I'm about to jump in the car Dad mind-links me "Son I need you to check and make sure everyone has returned to their homes no one is to be out when Aro gets here..and do a quick sweep of the borders I don't want any surprises, Darius. you and Aro are all I have left" I sigh as I get out of the car throwing Ben my keys "Make sure you look after the passenger she means the world to me and my Dad," I say as he nods and jumps into the car. I hope Aro doesn't get mad that I'm not there to pick her up but I need to do this so my dad is at peace. "where are you going?" Ben asks me "perimeter check Dad wants everyone in their homes when our guests arrive I hope to hell the pack is ready for this because I've been waiting a lifetime" I reply Ben nods like he's trying to understand but then I see it blow over his head as he shrugs his shoulders and proceeds to make his way to the airport. I gave out the order for everyone to make their way back to their homes and for the packhouse to be cleared no one was to be within the main parts of the house or near the Alphas quarters. I walk to the tree line and mind-link Damion my best friend to meet me there. Within 2 minutes he's there ready to run. "How are you doing D1?" Damion sends me a sad smile. "Not good D2 but I'll be ok" We stand there for a bit before taking a deep breath and nodding to the forest. As we're walking and taking off our clothes to shift I whisper to him lowly. "my little sister will be here in a couple of hours dad wants a sweep and everyone to be in their homes" Damion has his mouth open and shakes his head like he's heard something he can't believe is true. "she was sent away as a kid to keep her safe She is a highbred" I stop and take a breath looking up at the sky thinking about Aro "When we were little she was like my shadow everywhere I went I could feel her watching me but I could never see her. after she got sent away our connection with each other broke." the thing is Dad forbids us from talking about Aro just in case it falls on to the wrong ears. I met Damion after Aro left so I didn't talk about it much. "come I'll tell you more about her no doubt my dad will tell you the rules later" He looked at me dumbfounded. I shift into my wolf Dez he was as big as Dad's wolf, had black all over, and a white patch over his left eye. Lisa's wolf Uma was also the same color as Dez. "I miss them D1.mum and Is." Dez gumbles in my head.." but baby will be home soon and I'm happy about that" he adds as he slips to the back of my mind. Aros pov As the plane lands I feel a surge of energy I have to keep at bay so I breathe slowly counting in my head to relax. It feels as if my body is telling me to hurry up and run off this plane and into the forest. I open my eyes grandma is smiling at me sadly I know this look so I grab my glasses and put them on. Magic is seeping from my eyes. This feeling of being in my homeland has Alice and Astro sucking in the energy. As soon as my feet touched the ground my body was on fire like something inside me just ignited. Very slowly power started pushing from the ground into my body through my feet and as I stepped more toward the exit the power pushing into me became stronger and stronger. As we are walking out to collect our bags I smell something amazing i lift my head with a frown on my face and sniff deeply cookies and chocolate, mmm then Astro yells in my head "MATE!" I panic I quickly grab my bag and grab hold of grandma's hand putting a quick glamor spell on us so we won't be able to notice my sent. I wasn't ready for this.. not now.. As we walk out with a crowd of people I see at the side of my eye a very handsome man running around with his nose in the air it takes all of my willpower to hold myself together and walk away..just as we make it outside I relax a little drop grandma's hand feeling like now is not the time for my mate I need to see my family before anything else. I need my family and the pull to them is strong very sad and painful but strong. sometimes I can't hold on if I'm feeling way too overwhelmed my anxiety hits through the roof and well I'm working on it. but this being home for the purpose someone has killed my sister and my mother things are not looking good for anyone. I hurry to the man I see holding up a sign with grandma's name on it and point at the sign he looks at me as if I'm weird. "look here little girl I'm waiting for someone important so please step aside you're blocking my view" he says as he pushes me to the side I drop my bag off my shoulder and raise my hand but as I do Grandma quickly grabs my hand and smiles at the man. As I'm claiming down I get a quick look at the handsome man still running around looking for something he stops in his tracks looks at me and gives me a disgusting look " What are you looking at loser" he says as he walks off. wow, not what I expected but ok then d***head. I give him the middle finger high and proud so he can see it then turn back to my grandma pissed. As Grandma and the man are talking I walk to the back of the car and throw my bags in as the man does the same with Grandma's bags. he stops and looks at me. " I'm sorry for what I said too if you had just spoken to me I would have known who you were," he says to me in a sorry voice. I just snort out loud and jump into the back of the car turn my music up on my headphones and lean back into my seat. I hear Grandma apologize to the man Ben as she jumps in the back with me I look out the window and start to feel sad. Our ride to the pack house should only take 45 minutes as we pass the town and the lake there aren't many people about. I watch as I take in the landscape counting every tree every rock and everything that passes us. As we are about halfway to the pack house I open my eyes to see Grandma falling asleep she looks so tired as I look back to the window I catch a wolf on our left and one on our right I sit up straight and Grandma is no longer sleepy as she feels me move in my seat shes now watching closely I close my eyes and open them they both glowing blue. "Rouges" I say and Grandma's eyes go from tired to shocked. "Stop" I called the driver who heard and tried to drive faster. "STOP!" I ordered. with my powers, I pull on the break and the car suddenly stops. The driver is mind-linking someone as he tries to take off his jacket. "STAY!" I say looking at Grandma and she only nods her head and places a hand on the driver's shoulder "Please just listen to her" he looks shocked that Grandma would let a teenage girl out of the car when Rouge's about to attack. I quickly get out of the car and tap my finger on the top of the car I place a spell on the car to ensure grandma is safe and walk to the front of the car I lean on it and close my eyes letting my senses take control. 4 behind 5 in front 2 on the left and 2 on the right. As I wait for them to get closer I start to get angry these d***heads are wasting my time I have s**t to do and more importantly people to kill. I didn't give a s**t if you were a wolf witch bird fish or even human you hurt my family in any way you died I had no remorse for it even though at times I felt like my family abandoned me I knew my siblings loved me. I still remember the fight we all had with our parents when they were told I was being sent away. I start to breathe in and out claiming myself as the rouges make their way towards me and the car I hear growls all-round me and it's making me madder faster just f*** off is all I want to say. As I feel them about to jump at me I open my eyes and they are both blue I'm mad and the power is seeping out from my body the whole atmosphere changes instantly feeling cold and dark. they all freeze mid-air I stand up from the car and take two steps forward. I raise one hand out of my pants pocket and click all at once the rouge's bodies explode blood everywhere body parts scattered across the road s**t I didn't put that much power into that attack. "great now I stink," I say out throw my teeth the girls are giggling. I walk to the back of the car open the trunk and get new clothes out. I get out of the bloody drenched clothes snap my fingers so I'm clean and quickly get dressed throwing my bloody clothes to the ground and setting them on fire with a blink and it worked. I jump into the back seat of the car put my headphones back on and return to my music and my zen place. I can feel Grandma looking at me shaking her head "That was a little overboard.." I shrug lean back in my seat and close my eyes...I can feel the driver Ben shifting uncomfortable in his seat. I smirk to myself "What a weak beta my father has" I say to Grandma who's looking at me scolding me. I'm watching the beta through his rearview mirror making eye contact with him and letting my eyes shine between colors. "MOVE! NOW! BETA!" I had a list of things I needed to do and I wanted to get it done fast. I wanted to take off and find the murderers I wanted to cause havoc but Alice said this would be the last time I see them.so I have to say goodbye.
