Cheyenne’s P.O.V   The day that Mercury and I found out that I was pregnant was the happiest day of our lives and when I gave birth to a girl Mercury and I were over the moon, with both of us vowing to protect her with our lives. Anna was a beautiful, happy and bubbly child, but as the years went by Anna started developing powers and with each year that she grew so did her powers, but now that she was close to her eighteenth birthday and her first shift, her powers were getting more and more out of control. Anna had become a beautiful young woman with long dark hair down to the middle of her back and hazel green eyes, but she was also just like me with her fierceness and Mercury with his temper. Anna and I would train for hours on end, learning all the powers she had and the different ways to control them, but with her wolf getting closer to the surface with each passing day it was becoming harder for her to concentrate. She went to the same school that I went to and she still played tricks on everyone, including her father, which I found amusing. Today Mercury and I were sitting in his office going over some paperwork, but I couldn't focus on anything except Anna.   “You know our daughter turns eighteen in a few weeks, she will have her first shift and find her mate. We must try and hide her powers so that no one will try to harm her.” I said, turning to Mercury, but he just chuckled.   “It's okay, Cheyenne. Anna knows of the dangers when it comes to showing her powers, she knows to be careful. I promise she will be just fine and as far as the mate thing is concerned who says she has to have one? She might decide to not look and just stay here with us.” Mercury replied and I laughed at his overprotectiveness. If he had it his way he would never let a single male near his daughter and there would definitely be no dating.   “Mercury, she is going to find her mate and you can't stop that from happening, whether you like it or not you have to admit that our daughter is growing up and that she will have a mate at some point.” I said and he scrunched his face up at the thought.   “Fine, but that boy better be ready for a hell of a lot of questions and he better take care of her and be there for her or he will have me to answer to.” Mercury replied, crossing his arms over his chest. I couldn't help but smile at him. I loved my husband and he always knew just what to say to calm me down when I was feeling anxious.   “I trust your judgement, my Alpha.” I said, placing my hand on his shoulder, nodding and giggling because I knew exactly what it did to him when I called him Alpha. Mercury grinned at me and grabbed me by the waist, lifting me up and sitting me down on the desk in front of him. He stood up and got between my legs, leaning down and I could feel his warm breath by my ear.   “Say that again. Just say it one more time, my Luna Alpha.” Mercury whispered as I giggled and I leaned up towards his ear.   “Anything you say, my Alpha.” I whispered and bit down gently on his earlobe. I could feel Mercury’s hand moving down my waist and down my legs, lifting up my skirt and I knew that was the end of our conversation as he ripped my panties off. I grabbed Mercury’s pants and quickly unzipped and unbuttoned them pushing them down to the floor and when I straightened back up he grabbed my thighs and pulled me further off the desk and closer to him as he shoved his c**k deep inside of me, filling me up. In a couple of weeks it would be my birthday and my first shift, but I wasn't worried about that, I was worried about the thing that came with that and it had me questioning if I really wanted a mate. I enjoyed having my freedom and being independent, I liked the way I dressed and I liked going out with my friends. I enjoyed shopping, spending my own money and most of all sleeping in my own bed. I could just spread out over my bed and not have to worry about pushing anyone off. I finally arrived home and pulled onto the driveway, parking my car and got out, but the thoughts and questions were still there. Did I really want a mate? This was something I needed to talk to my mom about, there was no point in asking my dad because he was adamant that I wasn't allowed to date until I was ninety, which was ridiculous. Do I really have to have a mate? Do I have to waste my teenage years because of him? I don't want to have to worry about having a mate, especially with everything I have going on right now. I still have to train and learn to maintain and control my powers. I still have to be careful when I get angry or if I accidentally wave my hand because people would get soaked with water or when I whistle because then I could easily freeze someone. I have to learn all these things and how to control them before I even consider taking a mate, I thought to myself. I walked into the pack house and straight to my dad’s office. I knocked on the door and walked inside to see my mom and dad picking up a load of papers off the floor. I cleared my throat to grab their attention and they both quickly looked up at me, stopping what they were doing.   “Mom, dad, can we talk for a few minutes, please?” I asked and they looked at me concerned.
