Aaliyah's POV "None of you shall approach any one of his close relatives to uncover nakedness. I am the Lord." As I listen to the priest's lecture I felt like someone is urging me to look at my side, and there I saw my half-brother Carson Augustus looking at me intently. I swallowed hard then turned my head in front. During the whole mass, I saw him in my peripheral vision stealing glances and God knows how hard I try not to look back. "Aaliyah," my mother Olivia Augustus called my name. I looked at her and I saw how her eyes glared. "The mass is done," she uttered with gritting teeth. I roamed my eyes around and the realization hit me. I immediately stood up and then picked up my bag in panic. "Move gracefully," she whispered in my ear. I took a deep breath and then obeyed her command. We started walking down the aisle all smiles. "You became even more beautiful Aaliyah," my mother's friend commented so I politely smiled. "Thank you, Eleanor," my mother responded on my behalf. After that, we continued walking receiving greetings from different people. When we are outside the church we walked towards our car. "You should go home first Aaliyah. Your father and I have a meeting to attend," she uttered then kissed my cheeks before getting inside the car. She didn't even wait for my response. I took a deep breath and then turned my head in the other direction and that's when I met his ocean-blue eyes, watching my every movement intently. I let out a huge breath and then nervously walked toward him. "I will take you home," he uttered then opened the door of the passenger seat. I didn't respond, I just nod my head and then get inside his car. I played with my hands as I watched him walk toward the driver's seat. When he got inside I felt my hands getting cold. " Aaliyah," he called me so I looked at him anticipating his next words. "I-" Carson's words were cut off when my phone rang. When I look at the screen I saw my best friend's name, Mia Martinez. I answered her call and after a few seconds, I heard loud noises in the background. "Aaliyah where are you?!" she asked almost shouting since the music in her background is too loud. "Church, why?" I asked then leaned my back against my chair and throw a glance at Carson who is also leaning on his seat while his eyes are focused in front. "Aaliyah the two face b***h," she uttered and it is followed by her loud laugh which made me smile. Mia always calls me a two-faced b***h since when I am with my family I act all innocent. A good daughter who won't do anything wrong but when I am with my friends I am completely different, well we are like that... two face b***h. "Cut the crap Mia, why did you call?" I asked then waited for her answer. It took her a while to answer my question but after a few seconds, I heard the music subsided maybe she walked towards a quiet place. "Levi Carter he's back!" she happily announced and her voice sounded so excited. My eyes widened upon hearing her news and I can't help but gasp. "You are kidding me, Mia," I uttered in disbelief. "Then come here and confirmed it yourself," she responded then dropped the call. I am still processing my thought when I looked at Carson who is already looking at me intently. His forehead creased upon seeing my reaction. "Why? What's wrong?" he asked and his voice sounded so worried. I shook my head and then looked at my phone when it vibrated. Mia messaged me the address of the club she is currently in. "Let's go," I uttered. Carson took a deep breath and then started driving. I remained quiet the whole drive. I can see Carson throwing glances at my side but I ignored him. When we arrived at Augustus' mansion he stopped the car so I immediately get off and then run towards my room. I can hear Carson calling my name but I kept on running until I reached my room. I took a quick shower then wore a red tube paired with a black leather skirt. I put on some makeup and then curled my hair. I wear my heels and before leaving the room I looked at my full-length mirror to see my reflection. I can't help but smile when I like how my look turned out. I picked up my small bag and my car key before going out of my room. Before I could fully leave the mansion I saw Carson top less while cleaning his car. His head turned on me then scanned my whole body before putting down the hose. "Where are you going?" he asked and his voice sounded so strict. I fold my arms around my chest and then raised my right eyebrow at him. "Do I have to answer you?" I asked sarcastically. Carson took a deep breath maybe to have more patience in dealing with my bratty attitude. "Your Mom might look for you," he responded calmly. I rolled my eyes at him before answering. "Loungepad," I shortly responded and I know he knows where it is since it is a famous bar. "Okay," he uttered then continued cleaning his car. When he turned around I closed my fist tightly and then lifted it to his head level. I immediately put it down when he looked back and I think he saw what I just did so I walked out and entered my car and without any notice, I pulled my car out of our garage. I drive towards Loungepad and after half an hour I am now dancing with Mia and we are surrounded by wild people who are now lost in the beat of the music. Carson's POV When Aaliyah left I continued cleaning my car and when I am done I decided to entertain myself by watching a football match but my mind kept on wandering somewhere. I took a deep breath then picked up my phone to call Elijah. "Busy?" I asked when he answered the call. "A bit. Why?" he replied. I can hear typing sounds in his background maybe he is finishing some work. "Let's go clubbing," I suggested, and upon saying those words the typing sounds stop. "Do you have a problem man?" he asked which made me laugh. I rarely invite him to grab a drink it is usually him who always invites me maybe that is the reason why he thinks I have a problem. "No," I responded. "Just want to relax," I added. "Okay, then," he responded. "Loungepad," I uttered then dropped the call and walked towards my room to take a quick shower. I wore a white button-up shirt paired with black trousers and a pair of loafers. I sprayed some perfume and left my hair the way it is. When I am done I grabbed my car keys and wallet then walked towards the parking lot. Elijah is already inside the Loungepad when I arrived. I searched for him inside the bar and I saw him sitting on the couch while his arm is draped around a woman's shoulder. I walked in his direction and then punched his arm jokingly. He looked in my direction ready to fight but when he saw my face his expression changed. Elijah lifted his closed fist asking for a fist bump so I gave him what he wanted. After that, I sat on the couch and then ordered my drink. While waiting for my drink I roamed my eyes around looking for Aaliyah and Elijah must have noticed that I am looking for Aaliyah so he spoke. "She is hooking up with Levi," he casually uttered as his hand caresses the woman's thigh. My jaw clenched upon hearing his words but I remained composed and acted like I am not affected at all. After a while, my drink arrived. I finished it in one gulp which made Elijah laugh. "Looks like someone is in a bad mood," he commented but I ignored him and continued drinking. It hasn't been ten minutes when a woman approached me and rested her hands on my thigh. I was about to move when my eyes met Aaliyah who is already glaring at me. She tore off the gaze and then held the nape of the man named Levi. They started kissing in front of me. I held my glass tightly and I lost control when Levi's hand slipped on Aaliyah's butt. I throw my glass on the floor which created a loud thud that caught everyone's attention. I stood up and then walked towards Aaliyah. I grabbed her wrist and then pulled her away from Levi. "What's your problem man?" Levi asked acting all cool but he looks dumb in my eyes. "You are my problem," I responded then pulled Aaliyah from the crowd. When we reached my car I opened the door of the passenger seat. "Get in," I coldly commanded. She looked at me in disbelief. "Get in Aaliyah!" I shouted which made her flinch. She didn't listen to me. She pulled out her hand from my hold and look at me furiously. "What is your problem Carson?" she asked. "You and that f*****g man, Aaliyah," I responded and I am so mad. I can no longer control myself. Aaliyah scoffed maybe she finds me unreasonable. "That man is touching you but you acted like it is nothing," I added to make her understand my point. Aaliyah shook her head in disbelief and still couldn't get why I am acting like this. "I know what I am doing Carson. I am not a kid anymore," she responded with the same intensity as mine. "But you shouldn't do that kind of stuff," I reasoned out. Aaliyah sarcastically chuckled then took a few steps closer and looked at my eyes intently. "Why Carson?" she asked bravely without tearing off our gaze. "Because I f*****g love you Aaliyah not as my sister but as a woman! I am f*****g in love with you!" I responded which shocked her. Her forehead creased and upon looking at her intently, I saw disgust like she couldn't accept my feelings. "That's a sin," she responded then pushed me. She was about to turn around when I held her fist tightly. "Then I am a sinner," I uttered like it is nothing. I confessed even though it will taint Augustus Clan's perfect picture.
