Chapter 1: A Rogue's Mate
Logan Mune ran through the snow swept forest as the moon rose high in the night sky when all of a sudden, a delicious smell tickled his nose. His wolf rose his head and screamed at him that they had found their mate, one that smelled like blueberries. His heart pounded as he ran towards his other half, coming upon a clearing he stopped dead in his tracks. Before him was the most beautiful she-wolf he had ever seen with light golden fur. He watched as she raised her head and started to sniff the air. She slowly turned. tracking his scent until her eyes landed on him. He felt his heart stop in his chest. She quietly approached him, slowly sniffing the air around him until she was mere feet away from him. He didn't move a muscle, not wanting to scare her off. She looked at him questionably until after what seemed like forever she started to wag her tail. Logan gave a relieved sigh inside that she didn't all-out reject him. That meant he had a chance. He gave her a toothy smile and moved closer to her closing the distance she had left between them. He watched her closely as he moved just in case, but she didn't even flinch. Most packs didn't tolerate rogues in a matter of fact most packs had a kill on sight law, but she didn't seem to mind. Of course, he would have to talk to her first to see if she would fully accept him. Too his surprise as he was thinking about turning into his human form she started to shift. His jaw dropped as he looked at the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen. Her hair was golden and eyes a icy blue. He gulped. Wolves were use to being naked, so she wasn't bashful at all, instead she stood the proudly as he couldn't take his eyes off her. "You're a rogue?" she asked tilting her head slightly. Good grief, he thought, that's her voice! His wolf finally shook him awake, and he started to shift. he was nervous to talk to his mate for the first time, he wasn't good with words. She stood there watching his shift with curiosity. His wolf was massive with mostly pure black fur, minus his front right paw that was white. He was impressive and handsome. When he changed she looked at him from head to toes unabashed. He was like his wolf tall and handsome with black hair and grey eyes. the air about him screamed dangerous. He coughed into his fist when her stae lingered on him, "I'm Logan Mune, rogue." He felt stupid, he didn't know what else to say, so he just stood there. "Cecilia Dominican," she replied back, " Where do you come from?" "Far south," he growled, then shrugged, " Does it matter?" "Not really," she calmly answered back, not at all upset about his growl, "I was just curious about the one who was my mate?" She acknowledged us! exclaimed his wolf with excitement. Calm down, Logan told his wolf, she only acknowledged that she knows that we're her mates. She can still reject us. His wolf mumbled something he didn't catch, but he just ignored him. "I'd like to get to know you better," he replied in a low voice. Cecilia stood there trying to get her wolf under control! Her wolf was practically howling at the moon making it hard to concentrate on the conversation she was trying to have with the man in front of her. The long silence from his mate made him nervous, "I'm a rogue, is that going to be a problem?" She turned her attention back to her mate and gasped, "No! Why would I find that to be a problem? The Moon Goddess paired us together, who am I to go against her?" He felt relief flow through him. She accepted him even will his status. "I do have a condition," she started right into his eyes, "I love my pack and family, so I want to remain here. It might be difficult because of the feelings towards rogues, but are you ok with that?" He nodded, "I would do anything for you. I'll prove myself to your pack and family. I might be strong, but I don't wish to cause anything you love harm." She smiled at him and wrapped her arms around him, happy to have found her mate. Bringing him home with her was another story. She watched as her father's face turned red with anger, "And then you brought him here! To happily show him off to us? Did you expect us to be happy to have a rogue for a son-in-law?" "Sir, I would never hurt anything my mate loves I will work hard ..." "Quiet, rogue!" Cecilia's father, Dominic Dominican, snarled in rage. A rogue in his family! His daughter has lost her mind. "Dear," Cecilia's mother, Gwen Dominican, gently spoke up, "He will have to be taken to the Alpha one way or another. So why not let the Alpha decide his fate." Cecilia's siblings nodded their heads in agreement. It would be the easiest way to take care of this matter. "Alright," Dominic said clenching his teeth together in an attempt to control his anger, "We will let the Alpha decide whether we keep him or we execute him."
