Bullied By Two Mates

The sun was shining brightly on the green grass of Golden Villa High School soccer field as the two teams took their positions. The home team, wearing purple jerseys and black shorts, huddled together, their faces determined and focused. The away team, in white and blue, stood on the opposite side of the field, their expressions just as determined. I just sat my ass patiently on the waiting bench with my hair packed in a rough ponytail. That's my usual hairstyle. The referee blew her whistle and the match began. The home team's captain, a tall and speedy forward, won the ball and started to make her way down the field. She dribbled past several defenders, her feet moving quickly as she kept control of the ball. Just as she was about to take a shot on goal, the away team's defender slide-tackled her, sending the ball flying. The away team's midfielder ran to the loose ball and sent it flying towards their striker, who was sprinting towards the goal. The home team's keeper, a senior with quick reflexes, dived for the ball and managed to get a hand on it, tipping it over the crossbar. The crowd erupted into cheers and the match continued, with both teams fighting hard for the win. I jumped up in joy when my team won just once. It was already half time and the scores weren't still a tie. The coach walked to our bench and signalled me. I sighed before walking to her. "Hold on coach, is she playing for the second half? We are going to fvcking lose!" The captain said, angrily. "She has been sitting down there, it's time for her to loosen up. Besides, it's just a friendly game" the coach replied. Awwwn, that's so sweet of her to say that about me. Of course, captain will always disagree, she's a b***h. Suddenly, the referee blew the whistle. The couch touched me on my hair and smiled. "Prove them wrong. Good luck" she said. I nodded my head and ran to the pitch. The cheerleaders for both team started to cheer on their players. I gazed at everyone, they were laughing at me. It was my first time playing on the pitch. I've just been practicing all my life, not to ruin the net and expose my secret. That was when I saw the b***h from earlier, the cunning captain walking to the other girls. "Don't pass the geek the ball" she murmured softly to them and glared at me. Yes, I was the geek. That's my nickname at school. I rolled my eyes from them, sighed deeply and looked up, ready for the whistle. I wasn't really concerned about the geek. Everyone just call me that and I'm already used to it. Immediately, I heard the whistle, my team mate started to pass the ball to themselves. No matter how I was close to them, they never gave me the ball. I was getting pissed off, not because my legs didn't touch the ball but because they kept failing. I ran as fast as I could, controlling myself. I really didn't want to expose my identity. I got to the other team's goal post. The captain was with the ball. She managed to dribble the other team and was heading to the goal post. "Pass the ball, pass the ball to Khloe!" The coach yelled. Yes, pass the f*****g ball to me. She heard her but the captain pretended not to hear. Just as she shot the ball, she fell and the goal keeper caught the ball. The whole team sighed in awe loudly and the other team cheered. Of course I was disappointed not because she lost the ball. I was happy that the captain twisted her ankle. Medical team was sent to her. She was wincing in pain as they carried her away. And I was smiling in happiness. They kept on playing. It was already five minutes left for the game to end. The home team was down by one goal and the clock was ticking down towards the final whistle. The crowd was on their feet, cheering and chanting for their team to push forward and score the equalizing goal. The ball was finally passed to me. Finally! f**k!. The captain groaned in frustration and stood up on one feet to watch me lose. I have never scored a goal before. I took a deep breath and charged towards the goal, dribbling past several defenders with unexpected speed and skill. Even the cheerleaders stopped dancing to watch me. How fascinating. Now it's time to teach that b***h a lesson. As I approached the box, the away team's keeper came charging out, trying to cut off her angle. But the winger was too quick. I faked left, then right, before unleashing a powerful shot that flew past the diving keeper went through the net, breaking it. Oh no, that's the power I've been practicing my whole life on the team to protect. Everyone gasped loudly and the field was silent. I shot her eyes wide open and closed my mouth in shock when I saw what I have done. The crowd suddenly went wild as the home team's bench erupted in cheers. I, who have always been underestimated by my teammates and opponents, was mobbed by my ecstatic teammates as I ran towards the sideline, my face filled with shock and joy. I started laughing nervously. It was like everyone forgot about the fact that I broke the net with just one shot. I sighed. The captain groaned and sat down. She watched as their coach rushed to hug me. I love seeing pain in people's faces, even if I'm weird to them. The whistle finally went off and Golden Villa High School was emerged the winner. They carried me and head to the locker room. . "Congratulations geek. Thank you" a student said and walked pass me. I just smiled nervously. I wore my dress, shoved my jersey into the locker before slamming it close when I heard some students murmuring from the other locker. "Did you see what she did? She broke the net with just a shot" "The net must probably be bad" the other student said. "Khloe isn't a human. It's not possible to do that" They started murmuring. I sighed and took my back pack. I was ready to go home. The bullies in my school were outside. They were still cheering that they've won. "Look, it's the strong geek!" One of them yelled. Everyone in the parking lot started laughing at me. Aren't they supposed to thank me for saving their asses? I really thought as I've won the school their last goal, I'll be popular and at least, they'll start to treat me nice but no, I'm still a laughing stock. I turned and shot them a hard glare. "Hey! Watch out geek!" One of them yelled at me suddenly. When I heard the sound of tires screeching behind me. I turned just in time to see a car careening towards me, the driver seemingly unable to control the vehicle. Without thinking twice, I reached out and grabbed the car, my hands easily wrapping around the bumper. The metal bent and twisted under my grip as I stopped the car in its tracks, my supernatural strength allowing me to hold it steady. The driver, my Chemistry teacher, with a panicked expression, stumbled out of the car. "Ho..how did you do that?" He asked, pointing to the car. I turned my head and saw everyone looking at me. f**k! what have I done? I folded my palms and started breathing hard. "How did she do that?" "Is she superman's daughter?" "How is that possible?" "She just saved the Chemistry teacher's life" "Oh my goodness, she's so cool" Everyone with their own comments. "I'm sorry. I...I.." I stammered. No words was able to come out from my mouth. I just turned and walked away. No matter how hard I'll try to explain, no one will ever believe me. Then, I use to lie that something is just broken. . I got home and slammed the door of my room hard. I sat on my bed, my shoulders shaking as I sobbed uncontrollably. I was used to things like this, crying my ass out. I had always known that I was different, with a strength and speed that surpassed that of my mother, but I had always managed to keep my powers a secret. Until today, my powers has been exposed in front of my school mate. I grabbed her hair and took off my huge glasses, resting it on the table. Yeah, it's huge enough for someone to notice me as a nerd or a ...geek. When I took my phone, the school portal was in chaos after what happened today. I was never noticed there but after today's incident, I had more than a hundred tags. I couldn't bear the thought of facing my classmates the next day, knowing that they would all be staring at my and whispering about me behind my back. It felt like I've lost my privacy and my identity, and I didn't know how I was going to cope with the sudden attention. All I could do was cry and hope that somehow, I would wake up in the morning and find out that all of this was nothing but a dream. . . It was evening already. Penelope, my beautiful mother walked into the house with a bag of groceries. She didn't see her daughter on the couch, watching movies like I always do. "Khloe? Darling? I'm home!" She yelled my name. Still no sign of me. She dropped the grocery bag in the kitchen and head upstairs to her room. I was clearly hearing her scream my name but I prefer to be quiet for her to see how hurt I am. She knocked the door softly and twisted the knob. "Khloe baby, is everything alright?" Mom asked. She walked in and saw me on the bed, hugging my knees, all curled up like a child. My eyes were already swollen. Mom immediately knew something was wrong and sat down next to my placing a comforting arm around me. "What's wrong, sweetheart?" She asked softly. I sniffled and rubbed the entrance of my nose before opening my mouth to tell her everything that happened. I told her about the car that had careened towards me and how I had stopped it with my strength. Mom listened patiently, her heart breaking for me. Of course I could tell. She knew how hard it was to be different and to keep a secret like that, and she could only imagine how overwhelming it must have been for me to have my powers exposed in such a public way. "I know it's hard, sweetheart," she suddenly spoke after listening to me, "but there are others like us out there. You know sweetheart, there's a school specifically for people with powers like ours, where you can learn to control and use your abilities. You won't be alone there. You'll be surrounded by people who understand what you're going through." I looked up at mother, her eyes filled with hope. "What's the difference? I'm still different from them" I said. "You're not different from them sweetheart. Once you get there, you'll see for yourself that you'll be welcomed with an open arm" mom tried to convince me. It was like she had been waiting for a perfect moment to tell me about Hellviore High Academy. "I can go there, right?" I asked and she nodded. "But I won't get to see you again" I said. "Oh no no no, I may not be close to you but I'm always here..." She said and pointed to my chest. I chuckled softly and wiped the tears off my cheek. "So, will you go to Hellviore High?" "Yes mom. That way, I won't have to hide my powers" I finally agreed. She tried so hard to convince me and it really worked. I hope I don't get bullied over there like I use to. " That's my girl. I'll support you every step of the way. We'll figure this out together, okay?" A smile appeared on my face as I threw my arms around my mother and hugged her tightly, grateful for the love and support I've always been receiving. I knew that it wouldn't be easy, but with her mother by her side, I felt like I could face anything.
