THE AFFAIR

"Ma'am the doctor wants to see you right" away. the middle aged nurse spoke softly into her ears dragging her out of whatever she was thinking about. She just stood up from the bench her butt had being glued on for hours, as she walked into the young man's office. " Good morning lovely, how are you? " " Morning doc" she replied taking a sit directly opposite the doctor. " Well, soon you will be stable enough to go home". The word home echoed again in her head. " Your husband arrived this morning and paid all your bills " her eyes widened when he mentioned husband, it couldn't be possible. her husband wanted her dead by all possible means. " As a matter of fact he was here few hours ago to check on you" she remained silent thinking of the best escape means to leave the hospital. " When will I be discharged?" she asked trying hard to look cheerful. " Well tomorrow after your last tests, those tests will determine if we should let you go or not" " Is my husband coming to pick me up? " she asked swallowing hard. " Of course, he even insisted that you should be released today" her eyes widened again. so he wanted to kill her yet again. after making her go through hell. how did he even find her even after her surgeries! This couldn't be happening, her heavy heart broke even further after hearing what the doctor said to her. she recalled how everything had happened, from the time she had walked pass Leena's room to the sight of her husband making love to her sister, she tried to stop thinking about this but couldn't. This was the point every woman would break down in tears but her heart had already turned cold all she felt was pains like that of someone being punished through and electrocution. That wasn't all when she walked into the room In tears and confronted Leo she got the shock of her life, none of them where apologetic, Leo held her hands from the back and tried to suffocate her while she struggled to get away, while still struggling someone hit her hard on the head turning around it was her sister whom she had adored from day one, smiling before her with a blue broken flower vessel then passed out. That was all she remembered from that day. "That's all I have for you Mrs Sandra, I will send the nurses to check on you frequently". " Sandra?" what the f**k, her name was Lexi Alfredo. why on earth would leo say her name was Sandra " I will take my leave now doctor " she replied with a smile on her face as she walked straight back into her room. She laid down on the bed, it was so uncomfortable for her. " Either ways I don't have an option " She muttered to herself while trying her best to adjust to the bed when the nurse walked in. " Good morning, how was your night" the friendly nurse asked with a stray on her hand. Lexi frowned on seeing it consisted of drugs and injections. " Are those for me ? " the nurse laughed watching how frightened she looked. " No dear, not all of them are for you " She silently watched as the nurse picked up the string and injected it into her body. She felt a slight pain, but this was nothing compare to what she felt in her heart. " Your husband is a very nice man" the nurse complimented innocently. You don't wanna know who that demon is she replied to herself. " He is such a kind gentleman " " Yes he is always that way" she didn't want to talk further about Leo, all that mattered to her was that she was alive and will be discharged soon. She had planned to leave the hospital and go far away where neither Leo nor Leena could find her. Although had no particular way of doing that but she prayed things would be in her favor. " Uou will need to rest now ma'am the drugs I gave you have high effects so it would be advisable for you to rest your head" " Thank you doctor " " It's ok my dear" it suddenly occured to her that her phone was no where to be found as she thought of a friend who would help her from this trapped wall. " Nurse, I was wondering if you have seen my phone around here" " Oh yes, you husband has it with him". Great now the junk also has that as a way of keeping the fact she is alive as a secret. But something about this still felt strange, why would leo want her alive when he was the one that kept her in this condition. could it be for her properties and documents or was it someone else doing this for her. whichever one it was she really didn't care she had passed through alot from people she took very close, and didn't care about anything right now. It was barely ten minutes after taking her and she already felt really dizzy with aches all over her body. The doctor had strictly warned her to avoid excessive thinking as her brain was still recovering from the trauma of the accident. Sadly that wasn't happening of her own will, forgetting the past could take her days, months, years, or even her life time! she adjusted to the bed and in no time was resting peacefully.
