NICOLE POV 7 pm. My heart brimmed with excitement. Today was the happiest I’ve felt in months. In my head, early memories of the days I and Lucas met played, reminding me of the person I fell in love with. I stole one last glance at the clock as I finished my look with a swipe of sheer gloss. It was almost time. Who would have thought I’d be excited to go to one of these again? The silence in the room was contrasted by my best friend's Dixie voice, as she went on about last-minute checklists to which I listened absentmindedly. This time last year I had been stressing out for weeks prior, trying to get every minute detail down to perfection, all for my beloved alpha, Lucas, not to show up. That night I cried my eyes out till they felt so heavy, like they’d fall off from their socket if I kept going. I begged the moon Goddess to come through for me, and now she finally listened. Six months after our wedding, Lucas changed for the worse, it was almost like he despised me, like I was a thorn in his flesh. My words, my actions, my presence always seemed to trigger something in him. It went on for so long that I’d already gotten used to feeling like I wasn’t needed, so you could imagine the surprised look on my face when his attitude took a 180 and he told me in all smiles that he had made dinner reservations for our wedding anniversary night, heck didn’t even know he knew the date. Tailors from ………… stood by his side as he instructed them to take my measurements, urging them to craft their best work yet, something only fit for his queen as he needed me to look my best while he showed me the gift he had planned.
