Bio Hazard

I woke up early this morning to take my dad to work, but not long after I got up and made coffee and started the truck we got into an argument. we were silent as we drove the dark quiet streets to his job at the local saw mill. The ride home seemed worse as I sat in silence feeling pretty bad about the argument that I honestly couldn't remember what had started it. I wouldn't be able to apologize to him till he got home either because our phone service had been shut off the week before. I sighed as I pulled into the driveway and parked the truck. I hop out and let my dog out of the yard to come in. it was getting chiller in the morning with winter approaching. the dog and I go back to my room and I get back into my pajamas to get a few more hours of sleep before I start my day. I climb in to bed my dog snuggled next to me and I drift into a restless sleep. I hadn't been asleep long when I wake up to the front door slamming open and my dad yelling at me to get up. groggy and confused I got out of my bed and headed to my bedroom door, but by the time I opened my bedroom door my dad was already on the other side standing there with a riffle over each shoulder.. I knew right away what was happening and the groggy confusion was gone.I moved quickly throwing warm clothes on and running to my dad's room grabbing him clean warm clothes too. I tossed him his change of clothes and practacly run to my closet to grab my backpack (the kind most girls use as a purse) my dogs leash and my compound bow. I leashed my dog and put both straps to my back back over my shoulders and with my bow in hand I make my way to the front door. my dad was already standing in the living room. he pressed his finger his lips signaling me to be quit and nods to the window. I go to the window and pull back the blanket being used as a curtain and look out. it's barely dawn but I can see them and there were already three just outside our trailer . fear ripples through me and I jerk my head back from the window and drop the blanket back into place.
