What makes a person wise? Are they perfect in everything they do? Do you need to follow everything they say?

Alternative Title: The Wise King’s Tale, The Wise King

A tale of a king who keeps on reincarnating as punishment for being spoiled and selfish until he learns his lesson. The witch who placed the curse of eternal reincarnation on the king made it impossible for him to remember his past lives to give his soul a chance to become pure again by restarting life. The soul of the king, however, is so tainted that even without remembering his past lives his personality still remains no matter what kind of upbringing he has in every incarnation. But, during the king’s last reincarnation an anomaly happens resulting in him remembering his past lives.

The Sorrows of The Queen
ONCE UPON THE LIFE OF THE WISE KING Volume 1 The Birth of The Wise King Chapter 1 - The Sorrows of The Queen ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a large canopy bed sat a beautiful lady, who has fair skin complexion, long light blonde hair and blue eyes, in a white nightdress. The lady held a baby in her arms, breastfeeding. Focusing her gaze on the baby’s forehead, the lady smiled sadly and caressed the back of her hand against the baby’s cheek. “Hello, Alphonse,” the lady greeted the baby called Alphonse. “I’m sorry. I know babies can feel emotions from their parents, especially from their mothers. I shouldn’t express my sadness, you know. But… I just can’t help it.” The lady cried gently. Hearing the lady’s gentle cry, Alphonse stopped suckling milk and looked at his mother. The lady chuckled and wiped her tears. “I’m sorry you have to see this terrible face of your mother. Don’t worry about me, okay?” As though trying to comfort his mother, Alphonse tapped his hand on the lady’s cheek. “Bah!” “Haha! I know, I know. Mother will stop crying now, so continue your meal so you can grow up healthy alright?” With that said, Alphonse went back to suckle milk and at that moment a man, who is the King, with clean-cut light blonde hair, green eyes and fair skin in royal clothes came in. “Cielisse, good morning,” the man greeted as he sat beside the lady, Cielisse. “Your Majesty,” Cielisse said. “How’s our little prince doing?” the King asked with a smile. “He’s doing well,” She replied to which The King asked, “And you?” Cielisse did not reply as she looked down. Stroking Cielisse’s hair, the King asked, “Why the long face? You know we can try again, right?” “I know, your Majesty. It’s just… how long are we going to try? It doesn’t usually take this long to bear an heir,” Cielisse said as she looked up to the king. “The previous kings all bore heirs as the eldest… you are the eldest among your siblings and you are the King. Why… why is this happening to us? Am I at fault?” she asked with a trembling voice. “Hush, Cielisse.” The King embraced his wife. “It is not your fault. Don’t ever think that way.” “But… without an heir… the kingdom-” “Come on. It’s not the end of the world.” The King pulled away from the embrace to look at his wife. Smiling, he said, “Besides, we can always try.” Geh! I know we can, but we’re not getting younger you know. Cielisse groaned internally. With a sigh, Cielisse replied, “I know that, but we can’t just turn away from the fact that we don’t currently have an heir. Also, we need to consider the probability of not producing one. Without an heir… without the next King, the following generations will suffer. I’m afraid no one can do the ‘majika release’ then.” “Don’t say that, please. We will have an heir. Just believe me.” The King tried to console her. “How can you say that-!?” Cielisse cut herself off when Alphonse, who had fallen asleep, stirred in her arms. She lulled the child back to sleep and continued her argument with her husband. “You know, you being optimistic will get you nowhere if you don’t have a plan B in case what you believe in never happens.” “... Then, what do you suggest?” the King inquired. At this, Cielisse had to think. “You see, the only way to keep this nation safe and running is to produce an heir to be the next king,” the King said. “And what if there is no heir?” Cielisse asked. “Don’t be negative. Be positive!” the King exclaimed. “I’m not being negative. I’m simply looking at the facts, you know.” Cielisse furrowed her brows. “And I’m telling you that all you have to do is to believe that we will have an heir. It’s just a matter of perception. Like, when you believe you couldn’t shoot a ball, then you couldn’t. But if you keep on believing that you can, then it will happen!” “How did we become husband and wife when we can’t even agree on one thing?” Cielisse sighed, rubbing her forehead. “We became husband and wife because we balance each other so well. We complement each other! What the other lacks, the other fills.” The King smiled at Cielisse who looked up to him upon hearing his reason. With a smile, Cielisse said, “You know sometimes you amaze me with how much wisdom you can speak at the right time.” “And your ability to analyze and calculate such situations to formulate a solution never ceases me. I think you’re best suited to be the king instead of me,” the King said jokingly. “Don’t be ridiculous, Wenhart.” Cielisse laughed. “You finally called me by my name. You should do that more often.” The King, Wenhart, smiled. It was silent for a brief moment as the King and the Queen both enjoyed their company as they watched their son sleeping when knocks against the door sounded. King Wenhart stood up and approached the door, which he opened upon reaching it and asked the maid to speak. “Your Majesty, please excuse my intrusion.” The maid bowed deeply. “Proceed,” King Wenhart replied. “I am here to deliver Your Majesty a letter addressed from the Holy Priestess to Your Majesty.” Still bowing, the maid offered the envelope with both hands. King Wenhart received the envelope. “Raise your head,” he said. “Thank you for bringing me this. You may return to your work now.” Bowing once again, the maid left. “What does it say?” Cielisse asked Wenhart as he went back to sit beside his wife. Opening the letter, Wenhart read the contents and replied to his wife’s question. “It says that in the fortnight, the majika release will be held. We should make the preparations,” He said. “Okay. Do your best.” Cielisse smiled. “Yes, my queen.” Wenhart kissed his wife’s forehead. “Attend to our children’s needs and call the maids when you need something. I shall begin the preparations for the majika release. I’ll be back soon.” “Okay.” With that said, King Wenhart left his wife to do his duties. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Definition of Terms: Majika - magic, power, mana.
