Unknown Girl
Jack a 19-year young boy was living with his grandfather in a small county in Texas. He was his grandfather’s favorite amongst his other siblings. Jack left his stepmother after she tried to poison his drink. Now, Jack stays in a small county in Texas living with his grandfather. He often goes to the mechanic workshop to fix his grandfather’s old truck. On a Saturday afternoon when Jack was driving to the mechanic workshop to fix the grandfather’s truck, he met a young girl of 18 years with glossy skin and slender eyebrows standing by the roadside waiting for a lift. As Jack drives closer to the girl he whined down his glass and putting his head out from the window he said to the girl, “Where are you going this hot afternoon?” “I am lost and can’t find my way,” the young girl replied. “Why not hop in, we will talk more on our way,” Jacks said as he opens the other door for her. As the young girl entered the truck she thanked Jack and introduced herself, “Thank you for helping me out,” said the young girl as she adjusts her seat. “I am Clara,” the young girl added. As Jack accelerated the truck he replied, “I am Jack; Nice to meet you, Clara.” “Do you mind telling me what you are doing on this lonely road all by yourself,” Jack said as he focuses on the road. “I don’t remember anything about what happened to me,” Clara replied. “I just don’t feel right and I feel like I am not from this world,” Clara replied. Jack gave a soft laugh and asked, “You mean you are not from Texas?” “No, I am not from this world,” Clara replied. “I don’t think there is any other world besides ours,” Jack added. But at this time Clara was mute. “So tell me where will I drop you off?” Jacks asked Clara. “I don’t mind going with you where ever you go,” Clara answered. Jack looks at Clara and said, “I live with my grandpa and I don’t stay alone.” “I have nowhere to go,” Clara replied. “I will appreciate it if you will help me out,” Clara added. “Maybe we should get to the sheriff’s office to file a case,” Jack suggested. Not long enough Jack arrived at the mechanic workshop and parked, “Stay here,” Jack said to Clara as he walks in to get the mechanic, Mr. Philip. “Mr. Philip!” Jack calls out as he slowly walks into the workshop. “Oh, there you are!” Jacks said as he sighted Mr. Philip under a car. “What’s up Jack?” Mr. Philip asked Jacks as he pulls himself out. Jack looked around and said to Mr. Philip, “I just met a girl and she wants to stay with me at my grandpa’s place,” Jack said to Mr. Philip. “You mean this pretty lady?” Mr. Philip asked Jack as he pointed at Clara who was standing behind Jack. On turning around Jack’s heart skipped, “Gosh!” Jack exclaimed. “You startled me,” Jack said as he was looked at Clara sternly. “Don’t you make a sound when you walk in on people?” Jack asked Clara. Clara ignored Jack and walked up to Mr. Philip as she wears a smile and said, “Hi! I am Clara.” Mr. Philip brought out his hand for a handshake and replied, “I am Philip and I am too old for you.”  With a soft smile on Clara’s face, Clara replied Mr. Philip, “I wasn’t crushing on you.” “I enjoy making new friends,” Clara added, and immediately Jack cuts in. “Hello!” Jack said as he calls out for their attention. “I am still here remember!” Jack added. “Can we go down to business Mr. Philip,” Jack said as he drags Mr. Philip to where he parked the truck. “You think my grandpa will like her presence in the house?” Jack asked Mr. Philip. “You don’t conclude a matter without giving it a try,” Mr. Philip answered as he opens the bonnet of the truck. “Let me do my job,” Mr. Philip said to Jack. “Go be with your girlfriend,” Mr. Philip added. “She is not my girlfriend,” Jack replied as he walks into the main workshop. “Hey, Jack! Have you changed your mind?” Clara asked as she sat on a couch. “Well I don’t know what to say for now,” Jack replied. “I have to speak with my grandpa first and know what he has to say about you staying with us for a while,” Jackson added. After some minutes Mr. Philip walks into the workshop saying, “Your grandpa’s ride is good to go.” “Thanks, Mr. Philip,” Jack replied. “We can now go,” Jack said to Clara. “See you later Mr. Philip,” Jack shook hands with Mr. Philip as he headed to the truck with Clara. “How long is the drive home?” Clara asked Jack as he opened the door for her. “We will be home in ten,” Jack replied as he returns to the driver’s side. “Fasten your seatbelt,” Jack said to Clara as he turned on the ignition. Jack and Clara were having a nice conversation and Clara was getting to know Jack a bit, but Jack was not able to find out things about Clara since she said she can’t remember anything. As Jack was driving into his grandpa’s farmhouse, Clara said, “You see we are getting along so easily.” “I just hope my grandpa will let you stay,” Jack replied as he turns off the ignition. Jack’s grandpa was sitting close to the entrance door when he saw his grandson coming with a young pretty girl; he quickly got up to his feet and removed his cowboy hat saying, “Wow! You didn’t tell me you already have a girlfriend son,” Jack’s grandpa said to Jack. “She's not my girlfriend grandpa,” Jack replied. “If she is a girl and your friend what does that make her?” Jack’s grandpa laughed slowly. “Sorry to interrupt,” Clara said. “I am Clara sir,” Clara introduces herself. “Nice to meet you, Clara,” said Jack’s grandpa as he took Clara’s hand and kissed it. “Where are you from my dear?” Jack's grandpa asked Clara. “I don’t know,” Clara replied with a soft smile. On hearing this, Jack’s grandpa looked at Jack, “That’s true grandpa, she does not know,” Jack replied. “Well we will talk about this later,” Jack’s grandpa said to Jack. “You can take her to our guest room son,” Jack’s grandpa added. “Thank you sir for letting me stay,” Clara said to Jack’s grandpa as she followed Jack inside the house. Back at the mechanic workshop, a man and a woman walked inside the workshop as they looked around; Mr. Philip said to them, “Mr. Philip is always at your service.” “How can I help you,” Mr. Philip added as he wipes his hand with a towel.
