The Lost Princess of Biringan City

“Mahal na Reyna! Kailangan mo nang umalis sa palasyo! Hindi magtatagal ay makakapasok na sila rito!” (My Queen! You should head out from the Palace now! It will be no time that they could enter here) Bagani said to Queen Maya. Queen Maya's eyes widened. She looks at the sleeping child in her arms. She started to pity her, but she has to protect her no matter what. "Bagani, whatever happens, tonight you have to protect my child," she ordered her guard. Bagani looks at the child and nods his head. "I promise, my Queen." “Ihanda mo ang mga gamit natin. Tayo ay magtutungo sa mundo ng mga tao.” (Gather our things. We will go to the mortal world.) Bagani was stunned when his Queen ordered him. They were forbidden to go to the mortal world, but now they will go there. Bagani doesn't question his Queen. He put some essential things of the Queen and put it in the bag made of a sack.  “Magdala ka ng mga alahas at mga ginto,” (Bring more jewels and gold) Queen Maya said as she covers her child more. When Bagani and Queen Maya finished fixing their things, Bagani guides Queen Maya in going out from the Palace. They run to the back door of the Palace. "Ang Hari?” (What about the King?) Queen Maya asks her trustworthy guard.  Bagani becomes sad when he remembers what happened to their King. Ganos stabbed him, and the wound in his chest is fatal. The King immediately dies in that incident. He shakes his head. "Patawad, kamahalan. Hindi nakaligtas si Haring Gabo,” (I'm sorry, my Queen. King Gabo did not make it,) he said sadly. Queen Maya's eyes start watering when she hears what happens to his beloved husband. King Gabo was fighting Ganos from the outside of the Palace. Magiging maayos din ang lahat, ipinapangako ko aking anakm (We will be alright, my daughter. I promise,) she said, trying to collect her feelings. She has to protect her daughter no matter what. While they are running, Queen Maya and Bagani could hear the shoutings of the guards from the center of the Palace. Queen Maya could do anything but cry. She may want to protect her people, but the safety of her daughter is more important. Her daughter is the only one that could save their kingdom from the Evil sprite, Ganos. Ganos is the stepbrother of Gabo. Since they were young, he strives to get the throne. Because Ganos is older than Gabo, and he is the next in line from the throne. But their father favors Gabo more than Ganos. So, Ganos started to feel hatred from Gabo. When Gabo becomes a King, Ganos marks a word to his family that he will be back and take the throne from Gabo one day. And this is that day. When Queen Maya and Bagani got out of the Palace, they run to the woods. The night breeze was sipping into their veins. Queen Maya started to feel weak. She is not used to running because her destiny is to be the Queen all of her life. And her skills are not well developed. But the case is not the same for her child. So, she must protect her no matter what. "Kamahalan, ibigay mo sa akin ang mahal na prinsesa,” (Queen Maya, give me the Princess,) Bagani said when he saw Queen Maya's breathing hard. Queen Maya shakes her head. "I'm… okay…" she said in between her breath. They have to get to the center of the woods. The portal to the modern world is there. But Queen Maya suddenly stops running. She takes a gulp and looks around. She started to feel something from their back. "Mahal na Reyna! Halika na!” (Queen Maya! Let's go!) Queen Maya started to tremble. She could feel that evil sprite coming near from them. She looks at Bagani worriedly. "Dalhin mo ang anak ko at magpunta kayo sa mundo ng mga tao,” (Get my daughter and go to the mortal world,) she said as she gives her sleeping child to Bagani. "Kailangan mo siyang protektahan kahit na ano ang mangyari.” (You have to protect her no matter what.) Bagani's forehead wrinkled. "Mahal na Reyna, makakaligtas tayong tatlo kung aalis na tayo. Kaya halika na!” (What? Queen Maya, we can survive this. Let's go!) Queen Maya shakes her head. " Umalis na kayo! Protektahan mo ang aking anak!” (Go! Go! Protect my child no matter what.) She gives the child to her guard. Then she removed her necklace and handed it to Bagani. "Ibigay mo ito sa kanya sa takdang panahon.” (Give this to her at the right time.) "Kamahalan… huwag mong gawin ito. Ako na lamang ang haharap kay Ganos! Tumakas na kayo ng iyong anak!” (Queen… don't do this. You run instead with your child. I will face him.) "Bagani!" Queen Maya started crying. "Kailangan niyo nang umalis ngayon! Kukuhain ko ang kanilang atensyon upang hindi nila kayo agad na masundan.” (You have to go now. I will buy them time so they cannot follow you.) She began to push him. Bagani was thinking twice, but in the end, he runs to the center of the woods. He knows the reason why his Queen was too eager to protect her child. Queen Maya sent the two by looking. Her heart started to beat faster when she hears the heavy sounds of footsteps running towards her. She took a deep breath and faced them.  She immediately saw some figures in her front. It is not a long time when she saw the sprite who cause all the chaos in their place. "Mahal na Reyna!” (My Queen!) Ganos shouted when he saw the Queen standing in front of them. Queen Maya looks at Ganos with a sharp eye. "Ganos," she said as she greeted her teeth. She could see the black aura coming out from his body. Ganos laughs horribly. "Bakit hindi natin ito pag-usapan? Para na lamang sa aking pinaka mamahal na kapatid.” (My. My. Why don't we talk this out? Besides, you're the wife of my beloved brother.) Queen Maya smirk. "Kapatid? Matapos mo siyang patayin ay tatawagin mo siyang kapatid?!” (Brother? After killing him, you have the guts to call him your brother?) Ganos becomes serious. He scans Queen Maya's body. His eyebrows raised when he did not see things he needs from the Queen. "Hindi mo suot ang iyong kwintas.” (I see that you are not wearing your necklace.) Ganos looks around. "At na saan ang maganda kong pamangkin? (And where is my beautiful niece?) "Hinding hingi mo siya mahahawakan, Ganos! Dadaan ka muna sa akin!” (You will not touch her, Ganos! Over my dead body!) "Mahal na Reyna Maya. Huwag mo nang pahirapan pa ang iyong sarili. Nasaan ang kwintas at ang iyong anak?” (Queen Maya. Don't make this hard for you. Where are your necklace and your daughter?) Ganos said with a menace in his voice. "Hinding hingi mo mahahawakan ang pinaka importanteng bagay at tao sa mundong ito!” (I told you. I won't let you touch the most important thing and person in this place!) "Okay," Ganos said and looked at his people. He signals them, and they started to run to the center of the woods. Queen Maya becomes alert. "Walang aalis!” (No one's leaving!) she shouted. The wind started to blow strong. The guards of Ganos started falling without knowing the cause. They started gasping for air, and when they touch their throat, it was bleeding already. Ganos grunts and said, "Tigilan mo na ito, Maya.” (Don't do this, Maya.) "Ikaw ang tumigil! Layuan mo ang pamilya ko!” (You, don't do this. Stay away from my family!) she shouted. She lifts her hands, and a fireball started to form in her hands. Ganos started to be alert. He put his hands in the air, and before Queen Maya could throw the fireball at them, an arrow struck her chest. Queen Maya was shocked when she feels an ache in her chest. Her eyes widened when she saw an arrow buried in her chest. Her breathing started to get hard. And there's blood coming out from her mouth. She looks at Ganos. "H-Hindi… ka magtatagumpay.” (Y-You… you will not succeed.) Queen Maya started to fall. "H-Harapin… mo siya.” (Y-You… face her.) She said as she lost her consciousness.   © 04 – 29
