Though she narrowly escapes with her own life, Hannah's world unravels—she loses her sense of self and becomes obsessed with making the Andersons pay for their crime, no matter what it takes.

Years later, Hannah secures a job at the lavish Anderson Hotel to get closer to her enemies. One fateful night presents Hannah with the perfect opportunity for vengeance she's long been waiting for. But things take an unexpected turn when Hannah finds herself forced into an arranged marriage with Richard Anderson, the handsome CEO and heir apparent.

Chapter 1
“Hannah Williams,” the woman sitting opposite Hannah across the long mahogany table, called her name with a small smile on her slightly wrinkled face. “We are pleased to inform you that you have been hired.” Hannah's heart sank in deep relief, and she let out an exhale that she didn't know she had been holding in for a while now. She rubbed her sweaty palms together and mirrored the woman as she rose from her seat. “Congratulations.” The woman offered Hannah a handshake, which she accepted. Although she never doubted herself for a second, it still felt like a dream to her that she had just gotten hired to work in the country's most luxurious hotel. Even though she never applied to work here because of the status of the company, to her, a win was still a win. “Thank you,” Hannah said, reciprocating the woman’s smile. “I am so honored to be given this opportunity. I promise you won't regret this.” “You will be starting tomorrow, Miss. Williams,” the woman told Hannah in more detail. “Our staff from the HR department will show you around the hotel once you resume.” “Thank you, ma'am.” She replied, her voice steady. “I'll be ready to start tomorrow.” “We look forward to it.” Hannah gathered her things and strutted out of the conference room, leaving behind the woman. She stepped into the opulent foyer of the Anderson Hotel, its soaring ceilings and sparkling chandeliers casting a golden glow over her. The marble floors gleamed, polished to a high sheen, and the air smelled faintly of roses and fresh-cut grass. It reeked strongly of a world of luxury. Once she stepped into the elevator, she pressed the button for the lobby and leaned against the wall, watching the floors tick by. On the third floor, the elevator paused, the doors opening with a hiss. A woman in a suit stepped in, her heels clicking on the floor. Hannah gave her a small smile, and the woman returned the smile, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. She pressed the button for the second floor, and the doors closed once more. Hannah let out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding. The elevator was silent and deafening. As the elevator finally paused on the first floor, Hannah stepped out of it and noticed three people—two men and a woman—passing by in her direction. They were dressed in expensive black suits, and the woman wore a sleek black dress. Their expressions were intimidating, and their eyes were cold and unreadable. The woman's face was pale and beautiful, her dark hair cascading down her back. As they passed by Hannah, they glanced at her, their gazes sharp and piercing. It was like they were looking right through her but didn't seem to recognize her. At the sight of the tall and intimidating man who was in the middle of the trio, excruciating memories stirred up, and it brought a storm of anger and hatred raging through Hannah's body. Years ago, she suffered at the hands of this monster and his family. They had ruined her life, and she couldn't help but feel consumed by a burning desire for revenge. She could feel her fists clenching and her nails digging into her palms. The hatred was so intense and all-consuming that she could barely think straight. Funny how it is the victim who always seems to recognize the monster that taunted her and who has moved on as if they never did anything horrible in their past before. These monsters had ended her mother's life and put her through so much pain. Although it had been ruled an accident, Hannah knew in her heart that her mother's death was no accident. It was a result of Anderson's negligence. These people—these monsters—were responsible for her mother's demise. And now, here was the son of the family that had ruined hers, walking through the hotel like he was a perfect man. Like his hands were clean. The staff members, ever eager to please, greeted them with fawning smiles and obsequious bows. It made Hannah sick to her stomach. How could they not see who these people were? How could they be so blind? Hannah stepped out of the hotel and walked towards the waiting car, her mind swirling with thoughts of her mother's death. As she got into her ride, she could feel the tears welling up in her eyes, threatening to spill over. She tried to push the memories away, but they were too strong and overwhelming. The car pulled away from the curb, the engine purring softly. Hannah tried to focus on her surroundings to distract herself from the pain she felt. But she couldn't help but feel lost in a sea of grief and anger. Hannah thought back to the day she received the call that changed her life forever. Her mother had been rushed to the hospital after an accident, and they had called her father home. The hospital staff had told her that her mother had fallen at a construction site where an elevator was being built. They claimed that she had been badly injured and that she was bleeding profusely. Hannah's heart had been in her throat as she rushed to the hospital, fearing the worst. When she arrived, her mother was already admitted to the hospital, and the doctors wouldn’t let her in. “Please, let me see my mother!” Hannah had sobbed, her voice cracking with grief. She had tried to push past the doctors standing guard by the door, but they held firm, their faces impassive. “I'm sorry, but you can't go in there,” one of the doctors had said, his voice calm and steady. “I have to see her! I have to!” Hannah had screamed, her throat raw with emotion. “You don't understand! Please, just let me see her!” She begged; her voice was hoarse and desperate. But the doctors wouldn't budge. Sinking into the waiting room chair, she tried to slow her breathing and steady her nerves. She wrapped her arms around herself, hoping the physical pressure would help calm her racing heart. The minutes had passed slowly, each second feeling like an eternity. Finally, the doctors emerged from the room where Hannah's mother had been. “Doctor!” Hannah cried, jumping to her feet. “How is she? Is she okay?” The doctor removed his mask; his face was drawn and tired. “I'm afraid it's not good news, Hannah,” he said, his voice heavy. “Your mother had a very serious fall, and she's lost a lot of blood. Her condition is critical.” Hannah's heart plummeted. “Critical?” she asked, her voice barely a whisper. “What does that mean? Will she be okay?” The doctor looked at her, his eyes full of compassion. “I'm so sorry,” the doctor continued. “We're doing everything we can for your mother, but her injuries are severe. I wish I could tell you that she's going to be okay, but I can't make any promises.” Hannah felt the world spinning around her. She had to sit back down; her legs were suddenly weak. “So what happens now?” she asked, her voice shaking. “Is there anything I can do?” The doctor sat down next to her. “You can be with your mother,” he said. “We'll do everything possible to try to save her.” “Ma’am, we are here.” Hannah came back to the present when her ride had reached her destination but the memory was still as vivid as if it had happened yesterday. She could see the blood, feel the shock, and feel the grief. And all she could feel was the rage and thirst for revenge that had consumed her in the years since. Working at the Anderson Hotel would put Hannah in the perfect position to carry out her plan for revenge. It would allow her to get close to the people who had taken her mother's life, and she would stop at nothing to make them pay. She knew that this path was dangerous and that it could put her in danger as well. But she was willing to take that risk, driven by the rage and the need for justice that had consumed her for so long. “It's time to make them pay for what they did to my mother.” Hannah cleaned her eyes and stepped out of the car feeling all ready for her action to begin. She wasn't going to step back no matter the consequences she might face along the way, the only thing on her mind at that moment was pulling the Anderson's down. Her heart began panting as she began approaching the same house she was still living in. Every day was like hell for her as her father treated her like she wasn't his daughter after her mother’s death, giving room for her stepmother and step-sister too. She held her chest and calmed herself down before opening the door. She entered her father's house and was about to go up to her room when she heard sounds coming from the living room. Not that she cared, but she recognized a voice and wanted to confirm if it was the same person with the voice and with a great shock in her face, she spoke out. “What are you doing here!?”
