Caleb Walkers, a werewolf who grew up alongside humans and didn’t know what he truly was until his first shift, is living his life to the fullest and has been using his abilities as an advantage to solve his cases as a private investigator. His seemingly adaptive life takes an unexpected turn when he hears the commanding voice of his wolf for the first time, urging him to do things he doesn’t understand. Having grown up as a human and later discovering that he was not a human being, he doesn’t have much of an idea about his true identity. As he grapples with this newfound connection, fate brings him face-to-face with Zeke, a strong-willed woman seeking his help to find her missing brother.

Zeke’s unwavering belief that her brother is still alive, despite mysteriously disappearing four months ago, leads her on a journey she never anticipated. A writer of fiction herself, she never thought the supernatural creatures she penned could exist in reality. That is until she hires a detective to help her and discovers that he is not just any man but a werewolf... and her destined mate.

Together, they started to unravel secrets about the world they were both unfamiliar with. With a difficult path ahead, would they be able to entertain their budding feelings for each other? And would they be able to protect themselves from all the dangers they encounter along the way?

BAD NEWS
The sounds of moans and the loud creaking of the bed were heard in the motel room. “I’ll kill you.” The woman whispered in his ears, seductive enough to make the man groan with pleasure. The man laughed, thinking it was just part of the play, “Do whatever you want to me.” he answered, excitement was evident in his voice. It was until the moans of pleasure became grunts of pain from being stabbed. The man was about to let out one last yell with his remaining energy, but the woman finished him with a swift, experienced blow. “I was hoping that you could at least satisfy me before you die, but you were boring as heck.” The woman removed herself on top of the man. She didn’t mind the blood on her naked body or the fact that the man died with his eyes directed at her. She clicked her tongue after seeing the man’s wallet. It wasn’t because there weren’t many bills inside, but because she saw a picture of the man along with his wife and child, who was barely three, in her estimation. “And this is why I don’t get guilty of killing men like you.” She threw away the wallet, which landed straight on the man’s face. She brushed her hair and suddenly felt disgusted with her body, “Even your blood felt disgusting on my skin.” She grimaced and kicked the dead body. It landed on the floor, which she didn’t really mind. She went straight to the shower before she executed her plan. -- CALEB “The third alarm was raised as the authorities still failed to control the fire of a burning motel in the-” Miguel turned the radio off, which I assume is because of more bad news. I glanced at him and grinned, “What’s wrong? You look like you need to be in a restroom right now.” He glared at me, but my smile didn’t falter. “I was trying to relax, but all I heard on the radio was bad news. And you know what, Caleb? I think I’d rather be in that situation right now instead of following the leads of a missing person that leads onto this creepy road.” Another laugh escaped my mouth after his remark. He was obviously sulking and unhappy about our situation, but I simply let him be. The GPS signaled that we had already reached our destination. We stopped in front of an old house. I rolled down the window to observe. The house was huge, considering that it was located in the countryside. It was one of those houses that could easily be used in a horror film. It was already pitch dark, so I picked up a flashlight. It was not for me but for the man beside me, who was already trembling at the mere sight of the creepy house. Miguel shivered. I could feel his goosebumps right in my seat. “Why do we always end up in houses like this? This was the second time this month. I hate this.” He mumbled a series of complaints. I looked at him with a bored face. That’s precisely why he shouldn’t be afraid. It wasn’t the first time! “C’mon, ghosts don’t exist. Stop being paranoid.” I voiced out his worries and heaved a sigh. He wasn’t the most courageous person I ever met, but he was pretty reliable as an assistant. Miguel gave him another frantic look, “I swear I saw a ghost in that abandoned circus place. I still see it in my nightmares. One more creepy case like that, and you’ll have to drive me to a mental institution. I’m not joking, Caleb. It’s making me crazy.” I ignored him for the second time and handed him the flashlight before taking my phone and leaving the car. “Are you even sure this was the right address?” It was his last straw of hope that we wouldn’t have to enter the creepy-looking mansion. I nodded and showed him my phone, clearly stating that we were in the right place, at least to where the leads took us. I saw how Miguel’s shoulders dropped, but he followed me anyway. He quickly opened the flashlight I handed him and nervously checked our surroundings. It was so quiet, and only the creaking sounds of insects were heard, and it was probably driving Miguel crazy. I could clearly smell his fear. My eyes went straight to the sky. The moon was almost full. Miguel impatiently tapped his foot on the ground, making sounds familiar to him to somehow ease his mind. “Don’t look at me with that face. How could I believe you that ghosts didn’t exist when I discovered that my best friend turned into a wolf during the full moon?” I shrugged. I don’t even know my origin or have met anyone like me. It’s still a mystery to me. I already researched and acquired all the connections I could acquire to figure out who I really am. Still, all I could get were fictional books and movies that didn’t even accurately describe me. I approached the huge gate, “We should already figure this out before the night falls deeper.” Miguel scratched his head, “I should have brought a larger flashlight if I knew this was what we were going to see….” He directed the light inside, and it appeared as if something would leap out the moment they opened the main door. Even what was supposed to be a garden was all wilted, creating a more horrifying image in my mind. “You can actually stay in the car if you want.” I don’t mind going alone. We have already spent a whole week looking for this missing person. We drove five hours all the way to the countryside to find this old, creepy mansion. I wouldn’t stop at anything to finish this task. I could swear that Miguel’s eyes shimmered after hearing what I said. “Okay, I’ll go back now.” He was about to return to the car but halted because of what I answered. “Sure, but didn’t you watch those horror movies where the person who stays in the car is the first to die? Ghosts suddenly appear in the back seat. You would see it in the rear-view mirror, then it would grab you by the-” I snickered when he gave me a murderous look. He immediately went back beside me and even clung to my arm. I snorted at his reaction, “You like me now?” I asked, winking at Miguel just to annoy him even more. It was meant to tease him, to somehow bring out his sarcastic side, and hopefully help him forget his fear. Miguel grimaced at the thought of, “Please, I’m gay, but I don’t like you. You’re not even my type.” We’ve been friends since childhood, and I knew about it even before he outed himself. I didn’t really mind, and I was thankful that he also managed to accept me for who I was. Although teasing him has been great fun. “Fine, but could you let me go? I still need to open the gates.” I pulled my arm away from him so I could open the gates. “Here goes nothing."
